Benches and paths arranged around a small fountain at The Knap near Barry Island.

Look at me remembering the days of the week :) HBM

A garden in Old City, Philadelphia

I found this bench almost in the wood the other weekend.

The only problem with it is, is that it's facing the wrong way.

The wood and by far the more interesting view is behind it. It faces this!

Passau, Germany, on the promenade along the Inn River.

I don't read German that well, so I can't be sure what the graffiti artist intended.

Happy Bench Monday everyone.

Happy bench Monday. I took this on my bike ride the other day and it’s amazing how much Lake Michigan is down in lake level. Just two years ago it was up almost to the bench. Have a wonderful Monday.

We are just back from a trip in our camper van taking in parts of Dorset, South Devon and Cornwall.

Here is the first of many from this couple of weeks, taken on Portland.

A bench made of wrought iron in the city park of Krasnogorsk. The lovers like her very much.

Benches on Stephen Avenue Walk, Downtown Calgary.

Being buried in snow this weekend just made me think back to a warmer, sunnier time not too long ago.

A number of benches to sit down and enjoy the fall at the Garden Society of Gothenburg

Bench on the dike, Pellworm island

Our neighbors' cute cat came for a visit. :)

Ohh, we've gone pink!

This bench is in a really odd place, tucked between an advertising board and a parking bay in town.

It was a boring brown one, then yesterday I noticed it had been painted.

Maybe someone wants people to use it!

Whenever I take the grandkids to their Junior School I can’t help but notice these lonely benches at the junction of Crown and Trent Streets., Worksop in Nottinghamshire. They are always empty! Put in a ridiculous position, in the middle of an estate of low income senior citizens bungalows, they never appear to have anyone sitting there!

The old people usually sit in their gardens and avoid these benches. This is not the sort of neighbourhood where people are apt to take walks either.

Why the planners stick the benches in odd places like this is mystifying! Maybe it looked good on the original plans?

A series of benches has appeared, all painted differently to reflect aspects of the town. This one is in and about the Market Place. I have taken it to include a reflection of the actual market stalls and their distinctive red and white awnings! It’s all to celebrate Newark Book month.
