Dahlia - 'Blue Bell'

Throwing buds everywhere.

Normally I like to keep the off shoots out of it - that's just my way, but in this case it was impossible but additionally, I kind of like it here. This is. anew dahlia for us and it is quite noticeable how much the colour changes according to the light.....well all flowers do, but this one more than most.

Maroon Bells

Pitkin County, Colorado

After a night of torrential rain -- and snow in the higher elevations -- the clouds parted just before noon, revealing stunning views of Maroon Bells with a dusting of snow.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all.

We never look at the grass, though it is ubiquitous. If it's left alone to shake its hair loose it will produce tiny tassels, miniature and beautiful, that I'd never noticed before. Beauty is so often size and commotion for us, and fancy labels, that the subterfuge of loveliness all around us goes unseen.

― Keith Miller

While Calibrachoa million bells may be a fairly new species, this dazzling little plant is a must-have in the garden. Its name comes from the fact that it features hundreds of small, bell-like flowers that resemble miniature petunias. Its trailing habit makes it perfect for use in hanging baskets, containers or as a small area ground cover. (from gardeningknowhow, com)

The bell pepper is the fruit of plants in the Grossum cultivar group of the species Capsicum annuum. Cultivars of the plant produce fruits in different colours, including red, yellow, orange, green, white, and purple. Bell peppers are sometimes grouped with less pungent pepper varieties as "sweet peppers".

The bell tower is part of the Virgin Mary Church on the main street of Megalochori on the island of Santorini.

Tinkerbell two and half inches in length. HMM

I've had this little bell in my night stand drawer for as long as I can remember. I bought it at an antique store for a couple of bucks. The surface remains untouched and I've never cleaned it. It measures 1 5/8 in. tall by 1 1/2 in. wide.

A broken chancel with a broken cross,

That stood on a dark straight of barren land’.

This bell is my dog's belongings, a charm that she always wear on her collar.

When I took it off from her collar to take a picture of it, she was angry, "It's mine!!!"

To the right of the pass shown is Upper Bells Peak. Beyond the pass is Box Elder Peak. Salt Lake City is in roughly the opposite direction to the northwest.

Yesterday afternoon I went out into the garden to look for Fynn because a big thunderstorm was approaching and I didn't want him to stay outdoors. Fynn wouldn't come in on his own as he loves thunderstorms. I found him in the bell flowers where he took a nap. It was already bginning to rain but of course I had to take a few photos before I picked Fynn up and carried him indoors where he continued his nap on the sofa.

The pride not only of Šariš, but also of the whole of Slovakia is the ancient town of BARDEJOV, which is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Slovak towns. It was included in the UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage List in 2000. Bardejov has also a fitting nickname – “the most gothic town in Slovakia”.

The picturesque square with colorful burgher houses, the majestic Basilica Minor of St. Egidius, the Jewish suburb, the historic town hall, the Executioner's House, well-preserved city walls with bastions ... A huge number of valuable and remarkable monuments in a relatively small area. The city center is formed by the Town Hall Square surrounded on three sides by 46 burgher houses on narrow medieval plots. In the middle stands the Basilica Minor of St. Egidius, in front of which is located the original pair of bells Ján and Urban. The bells were originally placed in the bell tower of the Basilica’s tower. The old bells got damaged over time, so they were replaced by new castings. The Basilica of St. Egidius was built in the middle of the 14th century and contains a unique collection of 11 late Gothic winged altars. Feeling like climbing a flight of stairs? The tower of the basilica offers the most beautiful views of the city.

There were several flowers, off to the side or used as backdrops at the Lyman Bulb Show, that were missed by many. But they stole the show for those who did see them.

This is one - a Cathedral Bells (Cobaea scandens) vine which was used to cover an impact wall with lovely green/rust foliage. Her flowers were few, but unique and amazing to watch as they transformed from elegant, sepal-wrapped buds to first a brilliant green and then soft mauve bell-shaped flowers.

Here's one of those flowers with its pollen-filled anthers looking for pollinators. :)
