I think these men might be related, due to their ridiculous sense of appropriate behavior with their girlfriends. The man on the left has his hand up her skirt - and the man on the right has completely removed her boob! It's okay, though... she got even and socked him with her rolling pin!
So, I rarely experience Mean Mom Syndrome- I think because we were lucky enough to have Josie at home for the first two years of her life, and her motor delays caused a self-imposed limit on mingling. And, I suspect other moms don't snark at me as much because I am a physician so "know" what I am doing (not that I do, mind you- they just think I do because of my profession.)
Anyway, Josie is now in daycare two days a week- for her socialization and because Tim's schedule has become more and more hectic. This Halloween I had a terrible awful Mom Moment when Josie came home from school with several bags of treats from other kids. What??? I had no idea that this was expected. Worse, the bags were all thoughtful and healthy treats. I felt very VERY bad that I had not sent in anything with Josie, even though she received about 4 bags from a class of 12 kids. I was still threatened by the thougthful, healthy "good" moms who (in my mind) made me look like a sub-par mom. So you better believe this week, Josie is bringing in small gift bags for her class and her teachers, as well as the teachers from her Toddler Room who were so sweet they literally cried when Josie graduated to the Two Room (which was just in the past few weeks because of her motor delays).
I may or may not have been muttering "suck it, Robert's mom" as I assembled these bags of organic snacks and matchbox cars. I'm sure Robert's mom is just a nice, thoughtful person and wasn't judging Josie's mom for not giving her son play-doh for Halloween, but I don't care. When did I turn into THAT mom? Next thing you know they'll be making Lifetime movies about me.

Conducta (2014) Just two weeks after its premier, the cuban film Conducta, has filled cuban movie theatres. Written and Directed by Ernesto Daranas (“Los Dioses Rotos”, 2009), the movie tells the story of “Chala”, a 12 year old social outcast from La Habana, and his relationship with Carmela, his veteran sixth grade teacher.
Having a promiscuous, drogadict mom, not knowing who his dad was, and living in a ramshackle house, Chala spent his days at school and his afternoons training fight dogs (an illegal activity in Cuba) in order to make a living for him and his mother. The movie that is attracting thousands of viewers to the theatres is already considered the biggest audiovisual event of the year.
