Beginner project for the Double-Faced Crochet Technique.
A simple double-layer stitch pattern traditionally used to crochet some pretty darn fantastic potholders! My neckscarf design is an easy way to learn the basics of this stitch technique (and end up with something luxuriously thick and soft rather than a stiff potholder).
The Stitchmerge pattern PDF is an introduction to my favorite way to do this method (there is more than one way to go about it). It's downloadable from my DesigningVashti site and in Ravelry. It's a simple how-to pattern for this crochet method that results in the neckwarmer shown.

This was the first shot I've ever taken with an off-camera flash. Michael had his EX580's and gels with him today, and I got to try them out. The flash is behind the furnace door pointing inside, and through some miracle, it was still triggered by the Canon IR thing.
I called this 'Beginner's Luck' because I really liked how it came out and it seriously was the first shot I took using the flash. Every one after that seemed to get worse - I couldn't get the flash to trigger most of the time and still have it not visible in the shot! Plus I don't know what I'm doing with any of the settings on the flash :D This really motivated me to buy my own flash and other lighting gear though!
