The first in my design series of Little Red Riding Hood, inspired by Missy (boopsie.daisy), is being modeled by Robert Tonner's Lucy Pevensie. The coat and hat are made of a fine red wool lined in silk. The hat, coat, shoes, socks, dress apron and wolf were all designed and made by me.

Side story: Way way over a year ago maybe closer to two years I promised Missy I would send her some Little Red Riding Hood doll dishes and discovering she was collecting LRRH for her daughter I knew I could add other related things to the package. Then I decided I would also like to dress a doll for her. Having an extreme thrifty gene and an "I procrastinate on mailing gene" caused the mega delay along with weird events every time I got ready to mail the package, the last three delaying events being: the bedbug scare, Jerry cut his thumb on the table saw and then after almost two years I finally have my act together, send Jerry to the post office and OMG he came back home with the package.........Canadian Postal Workers were on STRIKE!!!!!!!! How hilarious is that!!!!!!!!! I waited for the strike to be over and mailed the package 19 days ago. I have yet to hear from Missy and hope the wolf did not get her on her way home from Grandma's house.

I basically love wearing tanks and boy shorts to sleep. But I have to admit that I'd wear something a little longer than that usually because I have 4 brothers at home and it isn't in good form to prance around in boy shorts, no matter how cute they look. (And you were hoping I sleep in the nude... bully for you... )

I've also noticed I tend to gravitate towards anything to do with Wonder Woman...

Let's talk sleeping habits. A friend was concerned over my unhealthy sleeping habits so he urged me to make it my NY's resolution to bring my sleeping clock back into whack. I guess sleeping at 2am every night is supposedly bad for you. Problem is that when I constantly travel to Vietnam or Cambodia, my body clock is always pushed one hour back. But once I get back, I find it really hard to push it forward, therefore my body seems to perpetually be in Saigon time.

Another fine tester bed, this one showing the ropes about its base, on which the mattress rests. Apparently the saying “Sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite” dates from the early 1700s, and rather than a warning to beware biting insects is a reminder to tighten the ropes on the bed before getting into it. The ‘bedbug’ is the bed wrench that tightened the rope, so the idea was to exercise care and avoid pinching your fingers in it. Having said that, I’m sure they also had bedbugs of the insect kind, so maybe the saying covered both… William Shakespeare left his second-best bed to Anne Hathaway, a more generous gesture than it sounds.

Encontré estas huevas de chinche bastante maduras, donde se podían apreciar los ojos de los embriones que contenían. Decidí seguir su evolución, y a medida que iban madurando caí en la cuenta de que de estos huevos no iban a nacer chinches sino avispas.

Estos huevos de hemíptero fueron sembrados con huevos de avispitas parasitoides, muy posiblemente Telenomus Sp, y sus crías usaron el huevo como alimento, puparon dentro y al final de los huevos de chinche salen avispas (himenópteros), en vez de chinches (hemípteros).

Los insectos parasitoides depositan sus huevos sobre o cerca de los hospederos, de los cuales se alimentaran las larvas.

En la foto inferior vemos los huevos algo más maduros, y se llega a apreciar que la forma de sus ocupantes no es la típica de las chinches, en la siguiente los huevos estan casi por eclosionar, y en la última una avispita recién nacida.

En el rincón de las últimas dos fotos, el dedo índice como referencia al tamaño de lo que se ve.

I found these eggs mature enough bug where you could see the eyes of the embryos they contained. I decided to continue its evolution, and as they matured I realized that these eggs were not born but wasps bedbugs.

These hemipteran eggs were stocked with eggs from parasitoid wasps, most likely Telenomus Sp, and their offspring used the egg as food, puparon inside and at the end of the bed bug eggs out wasps (Hymenoptera), instead of bugs (Hemiptera).

Parasitic insects lay their eggs on or near the host, which could feed the larvae.

In the bottom photo we see more mature eggs, and comes to appreciate that the shape of its occupants is not typical of the bugs, the following are almost eggs hatch, and the last one wasp newborn.

In the corner of the last two pictures, the index finger as a reference to the size of what you see.
