I don't know what it is about this one, but I just loved the way the sky looked in contrast to the water..... I felt it was just beautiful.

Because this evening gown single-handedly (if it had hands, that is) changed my mind about 'not being an evening gown girl'.

Scotland has been having absolutely beautiful weather for about a month straight. In particular the East Coast, with very few clouds and very little rain - a draught, in fact. The wife and I have been kicking around little day trips to satisfy our wanderlust and we realised we've never spent much time in Dundee (also known as Fundee or Scumdee, take your pick).
The main attraction was the V&A Museum, which I failed to get images I was happy enough with, so I've got a return journey planned when the nights are shorter. Dundee was certainly... interesting... especially with the sun blazing hot and everyone half drunk in the middle of the day but it looks like a place I'd like to spend more time in anyway. I'll certainly be back!

"Beautiful nightmare
Couldn't survive on the battlefield
But now I'm starting to heal
Beautiful nightmare
Lucky that we reached the top
As they say what goes up must come down
Happy? Couldn't be more wrong
I gave us the benefit of the doubt
It has come to an end now
It is time to say goodbye..."

Bitter Oysterlings were one of my first 'big' finds when I started fungi hunting last year. I completely fell in love with them and spent a good hour crouched in a bog trying to get the right shot. I was freezing and my legs were cramping up, but I couldn't have been happier,
A year on, I visited the same spot and there they were, glowing in the December sunshine. It's been a tough year for me, but photographing fungi gave me a reason to get out of bed on many occasions. The photography and mycology communities have been so supportive and encouraging. Thank you to everyone who took the time to look at any of my photos this year - it means the world!
Stay safe & enjoy the holidays! :)
