The small village of Bere Ferrers, lies to the north of Plymouth, Devon. It is situated on the Bere Peninsula between the River Tavy and River Tamar.
In bygone days this was a mining community for tin, silver lead ore and arsenic, with much of the surrounding area taken up with daffodil farming and soft fruit, such as strawberries, cherries and grapes.
Now most residents work in Plymouth (12 miles away) or Tavistock (6 miles), leaving the countryside around the village to farming and beautifu views.

Arenaria interpres (French : Tournepierre à collier) - Sainte-Marie-de-la-mer, Bouches-du-Rhône, France.
This indivudual was foraging along a wild beach near Sainte-Marie, south of Camargue in Southeast France, and I observe him in the morning, where and when I expected to find it. It is between breeding and wintering plumage, as the season is shifting from summer to fall. This plumage is still beautifuly patterned lukily. A small population is living in this part of the country, and they are interesting to follow and watch, as this species and genus has a different behaviour comparing with others waders. See the next picture for a deeper description.

A panel of 522 experts in ecotourism, geotourism and destination stewardship donated time to review conditions in these 111 selected islands and archipelagos. They are worlds unto themselves—their own traditions, ecosystems, cultures, landscapes. That's what attracts us. But as micro-worlds, islands are also more vulnerable to population pressure, climate change, storm damage, invasive species, and now, tourism overkill.
National Geographic Traveler and National Geographic Center for Sustainable Destinations conducted this fourth annual Destination Scorecard survey, aided by George Washington University.
The destinations is rated in four categories:
- Best-rated Islands
- Doing Well
- In the Balance
- In Trouble
The Logfoten Islands is rated among the Best-rated Islands on at strong 3. place. Lofoten scored 82 points out of a total of 100 points. The winner, Faroe Islands, scored 87 points.

Ashely and Ryan are 17 years old. They got married and had a beautifu little girl, making me a Great Grandmother. They are the most responsible and sensible teenagers I have ever known, and wonderful parents. Not much is straight !! A high key version of this image of the beautifuly created Opera House on the waterfront in Oslo.
Plenty of space to spread out - only 3 or four people in this shot, but the two walking across draw your eye in.
Amazing location and wonderful that it is accessible almost all year round and 24 hours a day on the outside. The hotel we stayed in was opposite before the new Libruary was build there was a great view across so if you woke up in the night you could peep out and see if anything was going on.
Usually there were a few folks wandering around on the various different levels.
Not sure any skate boards are allowed on it or electric scooters!!
Oslo like lots of cities - there are hundreds of scooters parked up everywhere.
Preserved London transport country area Daimler Fleetline XF3 which was unique in having a slightly bigger bonnet over the rear engine due to the engine being slightly larger than the other seven in the fleet. Sadly this is the only example in preservation but is beautifuly restored to original condition.
