This workshop will introduce Reason, a music software program that emulates a rack of hardware synthesizers, samplers, signal processors, sequencers, and mixers. Reason can be used either as a complete virtual music studio, or as a collection of virtual instruments to be played live or used with other sequencing software.
Instructor: Malki Means King, a 24 year old Musician / Artist / Engineer / Entrepreneur from Berkeley, CA. "Creating a better way through art and music, I stand for justice and equality for all. One of the features I really like about the MPC 1000 is the USB port. It doesn't sound like much but I've fallen in love with the convenience of being able to create samples on my laptop using Ableton Live and then port them over to the MPC with no loss in audio quality.
My only gripe is that its USB port is very slow. Maybe there's a mod that I can do to switch for a faster one? Hmmmm ... I see a new toy in my near future.

Metabeats was recently invited by film director Adam Bernet to take part in an experimental beat making video.
Part 1 involves Meta being present at the painting of a piece by Madrid based graf artist Gerbos and recording the naturally occurring sounds of the day.
Part 2 will see Meta filmed making a beat from these sounds and that will then be combined with the initial footage to make one special video.
Part 1 was shot in a partially derelict skate park in London, the weather was incredible and the whole crew came through with the creative.
Shouts to Adam, Gerbos, Ben, Dan & Gracie for all the hard work on the day. Looking forward to Part 2
