intober drawing prompt = "Beast"

When I was in Costa Rica I asked our guide/driver to please take this image because my camera was packed into my luggage when we were on our way to the airport. As promised, Daniel emailed me his photo to me recently after taking another group to Panama.

Lightning tears through the night above the Gila River Reservation during a late night monsoon thunderstorm.

First Dragonhunter (Hagenius brevistylus) of the year! An apex predator - this is our biggest dragonfly (chunky and > 3.5 inches long) whose range covers most of the eastern U.S. & Canada. They are few & far between and can turn up most anywhere (I've had one turn up in my backyard twice) but I've found a few spots where they are more likely to be seen.

Good story on this one: we were at the last tiny Japanese pool @ Gibbs Gardens and I was commenting that we hadn't seen anything real exciting - literally as the words were coming out of my mouth, I looked around and saw the Dragonhunter in light shade on a patch of beautiful irises facing the water right in front of my husband! I yelled: "Don't move!" We could have reached out and grabbed the Beast - I've always wanted to pick one up. I s-l-o-w-l-y got the S5 up - she was at minimum focusing distance and remained perched for me before flying & return once more. My husband eventually wandered off while I was shooting - and yelled that he had another interesting dragonfly patrolling. Sure enough - it was a big River cruiser - probably Georgia River Cruiser! RC's fly incredibly fast and this one never perched so no good shots. So the Beast had been perched just watching the river cruiser cruise by. Dragonhunters can take incredibly big insects - including other dragons and swallowtails. (I do believe the Lord had a hand in bringing both the good dragons - because I was pretty miserable with back & leg pain by that point.)

Have fun out there & Happy Dragonfly Thursday!

I love dark skies and dramatic clouds but I can’t remember better than when the Beast from the East rolled in with blizzard after blizzard in late February 2018. Many times since then the media have warned us with another beast from the east whenever a prolonged cold blast is forecast from that direction but none match up that cold blast back in 2018 which lasted a good fortnight.

A beast of a whisky indeed, although it's not without its beauty. Un-chill filtered and bottled at 46% abv, this is very peaty, as you might expect, though not in the realms of the really big hitters like Ardbeg's Supernova. But if you like bonfires on beaches and tarmac on kittens, this is a good one to try

"Wolverine. I hear you are quite an animal."

I had this custom done for a month or something I think but I am finally posting now. It's Beast mainly how he looks in X-men the last stand played by Kelsey Grammer who is the best Beast and not that piece of shit that was in First Class. I also really dig his outfit.

I sculpted a little bit onto the generic long hair and also the hairs on his face. The whole head was yellow before but was completely painted and sculpted besides the eyes.

The whole torso and arms was sculpted with the jacket made of etape.

I don't remember where the legs are from, I think either a cmf agent minifig or I got it at a thrift store but I really liked the knee pad printed and used it and kept the pockets cause they look cool with it.

If you want to see him with Wolverine check out my instagram, but he'll be getting his own photo later.

Also nothing to do with this but RIP Adam West, truly an unfortunate surprise, will miss him.

What do you think!?

Here is a little thing i did back in 2018. I had some different ideas how to use it, but they have dissipated over time, so now here it is on its own.

The head actually have been laying around since i came out of my dark age in 2013, so i modified it slightly, and then it stock to this body!

Feel free to comment. ;-)

This is the first CCBS MOC that I've built in a very long time, and possibly the largest MOC I've ever made as well. Since all my Bionicle sets are built and on display, I don't really have a "MOCing parts bin" at all, so I picked the pieces from my displayed sets as I needed them, therefore if you see any dust on the pieces, now you know why. The idea for this MOC came from a leg design I thought about as I was travelling to university for an exam, which eventually ended up working so well that I decided to build the whole thing. The process took about 12 hours in total, working my way from the bottom to the top. It ended up looking a bit like a ripped version of "the Beast" from "Over the Garden Wall", so I decided to give it the same name.
