Didn't know I was so gray until I saw this shot... I like gray, I was hoping that I could grow my beard out BEFORE I looked like Santa!

Another beard I shot for my university's newspaper. I always wish I had more time and better lighting to do these pictures... I feel like they aren't as good as they could be.
What looks like gray or white I think is still just really really blond. I know when I look in the mirror I don't see gray yet.
Bearding is a term referring to bees accumulating at the front of the hive, in a beard-like shape. Bees do this to make room inside the hive for added ventilation on a hot and humid day.

It's spring and the hillsides and meadows are festooned with flowers. This hill and those all around it, were covered with Yukon BEard-Tongue, a beautiful purple flower.

Taken at the Cincinnati Beard Barons' Car Show held at the Frisch's Big Boy Mainliner restaurant in the Fairfax suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio.
This guy was doing a presentation about bee hunters in the 18th century. I provided a photo of his bee box in the next picture. Beeswax was a prized commodity in that era and there was a pretty interested way for bee hunters to find hives where they could harvest the wax.

We saw some orange iris flowers, and I decided to order some plants for my wife's flower garden. They turned out to have fine orange flowers.

"Flame-colored Tanager on Old Man's Beard" by Patti Deters. This Flame-colored Tanager (Piranga bidentata) is a breathtaking sight, sporting brilliant orange-red plumage. Originally from the mountains of Mexico and Central America, these birds are actually members of the cardinal family (Cardinalidae). They look like tropical birds, but are tough enough to live in chilly, high-altitude cloud forests. In this striking portrait, a male tanager rests with quiet dignity on a branch draped in thick, pale Old Mans Beard lichen (Usnea). The bird's bold white wing bars and dark, streaked back provide a sharp, graphic contrast to the soft, mossy textures of his perch. This particular bird was seen at Miriam's Quetzal Restaurante in the Copey District of San Jose Province, Costa Rica. Thank you for viewing this picture.
