I know it's improper and not recommended, but I have the greatest success pressure cooking beans; Sorry, Steve Sando! These were just plain pintos, but were seriously creamy and perfect.
My method: I used a 4 qt. pressure saucpan, 1/2 lb. of beans and about 2 qt. of water.
Wash beans well, then add them to the pot with water - about half way up my pot.
Bring to high pressure over medium high heat, then reduce heat to maintain pressure. Cook under pressure for 30 minutes.
Remove from heat, let sit for 10 minutes. Run pressure pot under cool water to insure that all pressure is escaped.
Open your pot (carefully, and always away from you) and be amazed at your beans! I add salt at this point, and if I'm not in a hurry, put the lid back on and let it sit until it comes to room temperature. The salt seems to permeate the beans better, and often I just end up eating a bowl as is.
I Don't like you, and I'm gonna beat you up!

This is the Bean in Chicago. It reflects a lot of the buildings around it. Notice also the keystone effect on the building to the left behind the bean (Keystone = The fact that it's tilted because of the perspective of the camera).
At Curtin for the SPC Bean Aid Campaign, we were trying to achieve a world record for the most bean cans donated and put into a spiral. There were three huge ones... not sure if we got the world record though.
The Silver Bean or Cloud Gate is British artist Anish Kapoor's first public outdoor work installed in the United States. The 110-ton elliptical sculpture is forged of a seamless series of highly polished stainless steel plates, which reflect the city's famous skyline and the clouds above. A 12-foot-high arch provides a "gate" to the concave chamber beneath the sculpture, inviting visitors to touch its mirror-like surface and see their image reflected back from a variety of perspectives
BTW....Did I say that I went to see U2

This is a cupcake that I sometimes buy from the supermarket. It is made with a gooey centre, creamy icing and a chocolate covered coffee bean on the top. It's proper yum.
