It was cool and overcast when we arrived at the beach at Fort Walton Florida. The sand was white as sugar and was piled up in mounds creating the sand dunes. Tall strands of beach grass bowed and waved in the strong breeze. The power of the green gulf waters left foam along the shore.

A long exposure shot, taken from the coastal promenade, looking towards the pier, at Cromer.

From ChatGPT: This image is a monochrome depiction of a coastal scene. In the foreground, there is a pebble-strewn beach with people scattered around, some near tents or belongings. The shoreline has a dynamic interplay of textures, with smooth, blurred water suggesting a long-exposure photograph. In the background, a pier stretches into the sea, featuring a distinct structure likely used for leisure or tourism. The sky is partly cloudy, adding depth and atmosphere to the composition. The overall mood is serene, with a timeless quality emphasized by the black-and-white tone.

The same section of sand as the previous upload. Here I opted to flatten the perspective.

thank you for your visit to my photostream.

Sand Dollar Beach is the largest unbroken stretch of sand along the Big Sur coast. It is protected by the high bluffs behind it. The beach is about 150 ft below the top of the bluffs and is reached by a good trail and impressive staircase. A photo merge of four handheld images.

Hope your week is off to a good start. We are in for a some welcome rain this week.

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments -- I appreciate them all.

Happy New Year. First shot (or set of shots) this year. Headed out to the beach, on a path known to few and accessible to fewer, for a few quick shots today. 86F / 30C. Near record highs here in South Florida.

Went to pick up a rucksack I’d bought from a buy/sell Facebook group for wild camping/hiking from Abergele and not realising Llandulas beach was only a few miles further on.

Car park was empty save for a group sitting on the rocks watching the sunset and the tide was probably too far in and advancing fast to spend any time. That coupled with an overwhelming smell of strong cannabis wafting down the beach meant I got my shot, albeit rushed and bid a hasty retreat.

Resting for a while before taking another wade into Lake Michigan & then biking back home.

Ipomoea pes-caprae, also known as bayhops, bay-hops, beach morning glory or goat's foot, is a common pantropical creeping vine belonging to the family Convolvulaceae. It grows on the upper parts of beaches and endures salted air.
