Cape Hedge Beach is just a short drive down the road, but I hadn't been there in a while. This was a very productive visit, for both grand panoramas and close-ups.

This pair of images are of one of the groynes on Portobello beach, processed in colour vs black & white. Would welcome any comments about which one works better - I'm a bit uncertain myself!

The groynes make for nice compositional tools, main challenge was getting a window when kids weren't clambering over them ;)

As the tide was shifting, so the reflections joined the stunning clouds for this beach spectacle.

The Mawella beach in Southern Sri Lanka is possibly one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. As the surf is quite rough you should not swimm close to these rocks.

Storm is coming to the beach

I posted a few weeks ago about the Ardbain beach disappearing under rocks. Well, went over today to do a beach clean and lo and behold, the beach is back!

As you can see there is a lot of blue and green rope. What you don't see is all the small plastic detritus amongst the seaweed. It took me 2 hours to pick it all up.

I have to give Lid (AmericanGirl077) some credit here cuz while I was taking a few shots she was bending over just out of the picture holding the doll by a tiny hair from the top of Kanani's head. haha :)
