This past summer I went on a road trip through Northern BC and into the Yukon. Hundreds of fires were burning in the tinder dry forests. I was lucky to be out of the smoke for most of the time but occasionally the smoke blew in and visibility was quite limited, as in this photo.

This, the second of two new Diesel-Electric hybrid ferries, is pictured going past the raised Johnson Street Bridge on the way to Point Hope Shipyard in Victoria, BC, Canada.

Both Trans-Canada Highwayand the Canadian Pacific Railway traverse the pass.At 4,364 ft (1,330m) above sea level it is the third highest point along the Trans-Canada Highway

The average annual snowpack (depth) at the treeline near the pass is 3.5 meters

Banished from the lead position in the States via the advent of PTC, the ever dwindling BCOL fleet still finds work in other capacities across the system. Back in February of ‘23 I came across this specimen acting as a north facing distributed power unit (DPU) on a southbound crude train as they made their way across the diamonds at Shelton Jct Mn. Clean interactions with these few remaining units are a very fast fading event so I try to take advantage when and where I can.

JusDance is an annual event, pepole from all walk of life. Toddlers to seniors. Everyone come as they are, Freely express themselves through dance and movements in the park to music arranged by local dancers. Photo capturing part of the crowd at the end of the event where dancers have joined hands and form a large circle, then slowly come close together at the center. Expressing their love, hugging, laughing and I think there were some crying too.
