Ominous Dark Clouds loom over Crescent Beach. Surrey BC Canada...

A little color for a dreary December Day

Abbotsford BC Canada

False Creek is a short narrow inlet in the heart of Vancouver, separating the Downtown and West End neighborhoods from the rest of the city. It is one of the four main bodies of water bordering Vancouver, along with English Bay, Burrard Inlet, and the Fraser River. Granville Island is located within the inlet.

We just adopted two brothers who needed a home. They are older cats and seem to be taking to our strange ways.

The Museum collection has grown to over 5,600 historical artifacts of farming equipment and pioneer life in British Columbia, on display in two buildings.

On the way home from work, I noticed this CN train making a set-out (and crew change) in Duplainville with a BC Rail beauty on the point. I had to stop and try some shots. I didn't have a tripod, so I had to make do with what I had (the spare tire on the back of my truck). I love the array of lights on the front of the BC's.

Port Coquitlam/Pitt Meadows, BC Canada

View of the reflections across the river in Pitt Meadows and views of the ice floating down the Pitt River from Traboulay Poco Trail, which is located in Port Coquitlam, BC Canada

The Poco Traboulay Trail is one of the most popular rides in Metro Vancouver. It’s flat, off road and scenic … the perfect combo for a great day. The trail circles Port Coquitlam weaving through parks and on the dykes of three rivers: Coquitlam, Pitt and Fraser. The Poco Trail is a great cycling trail and hiking trail.

New Flyer H40LFR picking up passengers along Village Gate Boulevard - Whistler, British Columbia

Birding was not particularly productive this morning so I came home and waited for the clouds to clear some and did a bug check on the garden. Turns out that BC has about 35 different Bumble Bees.

An old barn in BC near Harrison Hot Springs.

Nobody wants to see smoke from the California fires (or the fires themselves), but it can make for some interesting shots. Normally the smoke is not bad here, but this was taken on October 7th at Harrison Mills, and there was still a fair amount of smoke in areas.

A rare visitor to the area, Victoria, BC

Here hoping to view this bird were people from as far away as Seattle, Monterey Peninsula, Calif and Lansing, Mich.

Sometimes a image is just there waiting to be noticed or even photographed.

In Chicago they say that the renovated Soldier Field looks like a giant spaceship landed on the lakeshore. Well Chicago has nothing on Vancouver. Hey BC Place, Devils Tower is that way.
