An overwhelming, colorful, cramped maze of streets where you can buy mostly anything that is available in Panipat.
The Grand Bazaar was originally founded by Mehmet II in 1461 in order to provide traders with a safe and orderly place to conduct business. It's one of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world. It is well known for its jewelry, hand-painted ceramics, carpets, embroideries, spices, and antique shops.
There are a total of 65 streets and 18 portals, eight of these are grand portals. The bazaar attracts between 250,000-400,000 daily visitors and has over 25,000 employees.
The Bazaar was originally made of wood. It was burnt down five times, the most serious damage was inflicted during the fires of 1546 and 1651. The market was enlarged during the reign of Suleymaniye I and rebuilt to the present plan in 1701. A 1954 fire destroyed more than half of the bazaar.
Berlin Bazaar.
Yes, there is really a place you could say it's a bazaar in Berlin. As I at least try other genres than I do usually, this is a nice break. I thought to make those B/W, but honestly the whole place is about colors. The miserable weather today adds a lot, as the light colors indoors and outdoors are so different. I still don't do any WB, or correctly, it's all on daylight. I used the wide converter so got 18mm equiv, quite wide. You're not supposed to photograph there, although I can really understand this, I tried not to capture any really recognizable person and really took care of the license plates ... I somewhat like the set, as said, it's something different, but I know this os probably not the field I have the most experience in.
Similar to the Grand Bazaar, the Spice Bazaar (aka the Egyptian Bazaar) specializes in spices (and other stuff).
