The International Grand Bazaar in Xinjiang, China, is a vibrant hub of culture and commerce, renowned for being the largest bazaar in the world by scale. This bustling marketplace is not only a shopping destination but also a cultural landmark, showcasing the rich heritage of the Uyghur people and other ethnic minorities of the region.
Visitors can explore a myriad of stalls offering everything from traditional garments and musical instruments to exotic foods and handcrafted souvenirs, all while soaking in the unique atmosphere that blends the ancient Silk Road spirit with modern-day diversity. Istanbul, Turkey (4/18/16) - The Grand Bazaar - Considered one of the oldest markets in the world was one of the major stops on our first day in Istanbul. I'm not much of a shopper as J is but I welcomed the opportunity to haggle if the opportunity presented itself. There was a security check point on all the entrance to the Bazaar and I wondered if those were there not too long ago. Not surprisingy, all vendors tried their best to entice you to go in their stores, sample their spices or peruse their merchandise.
I especially like the stepped building to the left.
