This boat that came down in the eastern Japan Great Earthquake of 2011 will remain in this place until it is decayed. As usual the sun rises and illuminates the ground with the light of mercy. I pray for the souls of the victims of the disaster.

Pine and snow
Clustered trees are windbreak forests on the Pacific coast of Misawa city, Aomori Prefecture, Japan. A pine tree keeping fresh green even in winter is a symbol of vitality. The contrast of pure white snow was beautiful.

I've enjoyed every one of the Batis series thus far. They are nicely made, lightweight, and, well, they are autofocusing Zeiss lenses - what more could you ask for? I'll be releasing review content on this unique addition to the series that offers up close focus ability and a 0.30x magnification (as you can see here). I've used one of my vintage cameras (an old Kodak bellows camera) as my subject, and the old camera looks great. You can see more images from the Batis 40 here: bit.ly/batis240ig and stay tuned to my YouTube channel for video releases starting tomorrow.
