I needed a mirror for our daughter's room, but didn't want to spend a lot of money, Luckily, I found this old mirror sitting by the garbage, and had an idea! I turned it into a beautiful, feminine Upcycled Mirror for my daughter's room and she loves it!
With a little elbow grease and a bit of paint, you can transform an Upcycled Mirror into a beautiful vanity mirror.
First, find a discarded mirror, or get one on the cheap at a yard sale or used store. Remove the mirror from the frame if possible. If not, mask it off carefully to prevent overspray or scratching. Next, clean the frame and prep it according to the paint manufacturer's directions. Typically you'll need to scuff it gently to break the glaze and then clean it thoroughly. Paint it in any color you wish. I used silver and added little baubles along the inner frame to add a bit of character. Hang it up and let your daughter enjoy!

And yes, my bungalow windows on Lanta have moscito screens indeed. It's just that they are completely useless: The thatched roof sits on thick bamboo poles which lie losely on the wooden walls. This creates a gap of about 6 centimeters between walls and roof. They obviously tried to close that gap with polythene sheet, but the plastic is completely broken. A young buzzard could enter there. So in your room you have to wrap the provided moscito tent around your bed, just what I wanted to avoid.
Mozzies who don't make it up to the wall/roof gap simply sneak in by the bathroom door. The bathroom is semi-open air without any moscito screen: They let some "bamboo grass" grow right into your bathroom through huge gaps. Looks nice and tropical, and gets you nice and tropical creatures into your wellness compartment: geckos, spiders and other multilegged things you'd rather see fried on the Mukdahan night market.
Gangs of Ko Lanta's interested moscito population drop by as well.
As I use the bathroom facilities, I quickly find out that local mozzies are impressively big, thoroughly black - and lightning fast. In your private moments in the Lanta Long Beach bathroom, bloodhungry gnats feast on your private parts. Chez hn., local mozzies are having a ball; or two.

One thing i've learned as i've gotten older... life is sometimes easier when you keep your mouth shut. It may or may not get your point across. However, it will certainly save you the headache of having to listen to an unwanted rant!

Ohhh! My aching back!!
I'm short, no doubt about it. When I stand at the sink, I can see my head and shoulders. But then, the phonecam hides my smile. Can't have that, nope! So I get up on a little wooden bench I bought at Wal-Mart, and that makes me too tall, so I have to bend over. Hmmmm. It took me 4 carefully aimed shots before I got it right. And by then, my back was complaining to me, "Mel, you dummy, you have an iSight webcam you can use to take your photo while you sit down! So I listened to my back.
