Greeting Card created with:
- Bazzill Basics cardstock
- BasicGrey Scarlet's Letter background paper
- Journaling panel with faux postage
- Flowers stamped on coordinating blue paper scraps, cut out and embellished with microbeads and blue rhinestones and adhered to card as shown.
- Stamp credits: Flowers by Hero Arts
- Card measures 5 x 7
- The inspiration for this card is from a design by Leslie Giallombardo as found in the Oct/Nov/Dec 2013 issue of "The Stamper's Sampler".
I was inspired to create this card for the Hero Arts June 2012 "Thinking of You" Challenge.
The background is patterned paper called Peanut Brittle from Basic Grey's Sugar Rush collection. The focal image is created on vellum that has been colored with Ranger alcohol inks. I forget the exact recipe, but I think I used Wild Plum, Eggplant, and Stream.
Once the vellum was dry, I cut it to size. Then I stamped Hero Arts K5486 Flower Swirl Vine using Tsukineko VersaMark watermark ink on top. I heat embossed with Ranger seafoam white embossing powder. Then I ran it through my Xyron to apply adhesive consistently to the back of the vellum and adhered it to the pale blue matte.
I attached a purple ribbon bow in the upper right corner. I stamped the "thinking of you" sentiment from Hero Arts CL140 Thinking of You Messages onto Wrights twill tape using Tsukineko Memento Grape Jelly dye ink. I wrapped it around the focal image and matte and then adhered it to the card base.

I made this for a friends granddaughter who desn't like flowers or anything too girly. I stamped the flower on her dress seperately, cut it out, used glitter on it & then raised it up with foam adhesive. I also coverd a chipboard tag with the BG paper & stamped on it. TFL

I did a swap with a friend -- she made my kiddos crocheted hats, and I made her baby girl a little quilt...
For Sketch #1, I decided to make a masculine valentine by combining Basic Grey Archaic papers with Hero Arts Love Letters (LP026) and From the Heart Greetings (LL169).
The love letters were stamped in ColorBox Chalk Dark Brown on blue Archaic paper and clear embossed. I used an orange Sakura sparkle pen to color one of the blooms on the V.
The From the Heart Greeting was stamped, embossed, and cut out with the EK Success Folk Heart punch. I attached it to brown Archaic paper and free-hand cut around it for a border. The finishing touch is a tiny Prima Sweet & Sassy Bloom with an aged gold brad.

I love this block! This fabric is Fresh Cut by BasicGrey and it is one of my favorites. You can make anything with this fabric and it will look great :)
I snapped this quick between the storms that are rolling over today, the clouds are dark and angry!
I hung it on the line so I could step back and be sure the pattern was perfect, after finding 2 4-patches rotated yesterday and unpicking 1/2 the quilt lol.
I'll be adding a border when the fabric on the bolt arrives in October :)

A quick, feminine holiday card for a neighbor. I am also entering this in the Let It Snow challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge blog. Thanks for looking.
Supplies: Hero Arts Christmas Tags Set (DI040), Hero Arts Spread Joy (331232), Hero Arts Snowflake Die (DI064), Hero Arts Ink (Pale Tomato, Neon Red), BasicGrey RSVP patterned papers, and BasicGrey Candy Buttons.
I had a great time making this shaped card. The background is a page from Basic Grey's "Recess" 6x6 paper pad that was originally an amber brown color. I swirled Worn Lipstick Distress Ink over top to make it pink and then stamped in Worn Lipstick over top of that. The holly leaves are colored in with color pencil, but it is hard to see in the photo.
One of the things I liked about this card was that the placement of the stamping didn't need to be too exact in any one place except maybe the sentiment. And I like shaped cards like this one, even though they don't necessarily stand up well.

Following Lain's prompt for today, I scrapped a page about the end of the road for my favourite boots. This week, after years and years of wear and tear, the soles on my Blundstones finally gave out. I need to get a new pair soon... I feel lost without them.

LOAD Day 16
The page and a few more details are blogged here: randomchaoslife.blogspot.com/2012/05/may-16.html
Use someone else's journaling.
Jon sent me a text that said this and I've saved it in my phone. It always makes me smile.
The banner-like pieces under the photo were inspired by Whimsical Nature here: www.flickr.com/photos/whimsicalnature/7180402288/in/photo...
The stitch-like lines do go all the way around the page on all four sides, not sure why some of them got cut off.
Journaling reads:

Still playing with the one canvas board Terry cut up for me -- this piece is 7x7". Paper embellishments are Basic Grey. Ladies stamp is from B-Line, little girls are All Night Media, and tree is Penny Black. Clouds from UmWowStudio on Etsy.
I don't usually go for the "shabby chic" or "vintage" look, but I just adored the way Lisa's card background turned out on the video and I had to try it for myself. I loved her pink, green, and brown color scheme. And I wanted to try out the way she created the background using a flower stamp with distressing and a bit of cream pencil for accents.
This was also my first attempt at using Liquid Pearls to make accents. Jennifer McGuire made it look so easy to tap them into roundness ... but I think I need a bit more practice.
I really like how the card turned out! Thanks Lisa, Jennifer, & Hero Arts for the inspiration!
Thanks for looking! :-)
I am making some tags for Em's teachers. I used my trusty 'Bug, punches, Copics, & what ever I have in my stash. It's a grea way to use up scraps. I have individual photos on my photostream. TFL xoxoxoxoxo

I don't typically make many children's cards, but I have a niece who turns 11 on the 18th of this month so I made this birthday card for her. I am also entering the card in the current Hero Arts Birthday Challenge - Kids cards. Thanks for looking.
Supplies: Hero Arts OWH Lil Hoot (CL755), Hero Arts Yay! (CL752), Hero Arts LOL (CL737), Hero Arts On The Go Bike (stamp and die) (657782), BasicGrey RSVP patterned papers, and Hero Arts Shallows layering paper.
Background is ledger paper from Basic Grey's "Recess" 6x6 paper pad. I edged the left side with aqua/clear striped washi tape. On the right side, I stamped a flourish from Tim Holtz's / Stampers Anonymous' CMS070 Fabulous Flourishes using VersaMark watermark ink. Then I heat embossed it using Ranger turquoise embossing powder with my Heat It craft tool (heat gun).
For the focal piece, I stamped Stampers Anonymous M2-674 (D) Dream on white cardstock using Ranger Archival Ink in jet black. I colored it in using Prismacolor Premier colored pencils. Then I die cut and dry embossed it using Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Rectangles Small.
Next, I dry embossed it with a flourish from Tim Holtz French Connection Texture Fades by Sizzix. You can see this better in the second, close-up photo. Then I edged the piece with lime/clear striped washi tape.
The matte is purple patterned paper from Basic Grey's "Kioshi" 6x6 pad (KIO-2344 Yuriko). I die cut and dry embossed it using Spellbinders Nestabilities Classic Scalloped Rectangles Large.
I wrapped Together Twine from My Mind's Eye "Lime Twist" collection around the focal panel. Then I adhered it to the scalloped matte. I added blue pearls from Hero Arts CH213 Sea Mixed Accents. Then I adhered it to the card base using foam tape for dimension.
Thanks for looking! :-)
