Quilt along at Quilter's Way

Pattern: Toes in the Sand BOM by the fabulous jaybird quilts.

Fabrics: PB&J by basic grey for Moda

Quilt made as fundraiser for my daughter's preschool. Had each of the students write their name on a leaf, and appliqued to a "tree" along with apples for the teachers and Oreo, the school pet rabbit! The school initials are "carved" into the tree trunk. Blogged at:

25 Days Til Christmas - Day 1

Details blogged

Just playing with the Luscious bold flowers set and the coordinating Basic Grey paper.

The right side of my two page spread for LOAD 511.

Journaling reads:

"There has always been something amazing to me about the way musical artists can write songs that so perfectly relate to my life. A dear friend gave me the idea to create a "soundtrack of my life" featuring new songs each month. It's a beautiful thing.

I love to listen to the words-they often get stuck in my head & I often quote them. Music is always on around me and unless I'm at work, it's country. My itunes library is packed with my favorites-Kenny, Zac Brown, Toby and so many more. Here are some of my most recent favorites:

"Cause if you don't know where you're going-you might end up somewhere else" --Toby Keith. "thank God for all I missed-'cause it led me here to this" --Darius Rucker. "I'm at these crossroads in my life..." --Kenny Chesney"

Supplies Used:

Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket [Blue lines], Basic Grey [Green], My Mind's Eye [Ledger], Unknown [Orange]

Die Cuts: Sizzix [Lime Light]

Adhesive: Xyron, Scrapbook Adhesives, Scotch ATG

Pen: Staedtler

QA round 1, 1st quilt

I used Basic Grey's Urban Couture for this one as I love BG fabrics and paper. I don't typically use a lot of yellow/gold in quilts but I really think it is nice with these fabrics.

I'm kind of wishing I'd used the periwinkle fabric for binding.

I used the extra bits from the strips sets for a top and bottom border.

arrived : April 11, 2013

My first attempt at a Stack-N-Whack quilt! Top finished in three days...I love the kaleidoscope look of the blocks and was surprised at how quickly it went. Border and blocks are a floral from Moda's Origins by Basic Grey.

made with Basic Grey papers

Made this for the Hero Arts Challenge. I used one of the sketches, but turned it because of the tag. The flower is on the left so I decided to place the sentiment on the right. And I thought this flower is like a sunflower and great for the challenge.
