Holmdel First Aid Squad two day Basic Extrication Class. Day1 was in the classroom explaining our objects and the tools used. Day 2 was tool time. 15 members learned about vehicle stabilization and got hands on experience extracting a patient from a wrecked vehicle. Both pneumatic tools and battery operated tools were used including cutters, spreaders, and combi-tools. Three groups of 5 members each worked on 3 different vehicles. After lunch we divided into 2 groups that worked on two larger SUV vehicles that were on their side.

This picture is my all time favorite picture so far- it was taken at the top of the Empire State Building. The view was amazing.

Emergency Climate and Immigrant Justice Rally and Vigil.
Climate change and immigrant activists gathered at the Massachusetts State House to protest the Mass. House leadership which rejected the strong climate. Despite the best efforts of 50 of the Representatives to push for a 3% RPS, DPU reform and prevention of a pipeline tax . Instead of raising the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) to 2% instead of the 3% that would result in 100% renewables by 2050, they favored weak agenda that would result in 100% renewables in the electric sector by 2085.
Additionally legislators have failed to pass any legislation to protect immigrant communities that are under attack in our Commonwealth. The last chance for them to act was to include the 4 Key Protections as a budget amendment, but the conference committee member and Speaker DeLeo chose not to. In May the Senate passed basic safeguards to guarantee that victims of crime and domestic violence can ask police for help without fear that they will be interrogated about their immigration status, and to ensure that people facing threats of deportation are informed about their rights. But the House refused to act on even these minimal protections.
