Dog hoodies are catching on! Fall weather is coined "hoodie weather" for a reason...it's the perfect time to sport the comfy clothing. Keep it simple with a basic dog hoodie, or jazz it up with a patterned hoodie, like the Skull Chain dog hoodie available now.

This would have been my mother's 82nd birthday. She served as a sergeant in the Canadian Women's Army Corps from 1944 till it was disbanded in 1946, did her basic training in Kitchener, Ontario, and served in Vancouver, BC, and later in Saint John, New Brunswick and in Ottawa, her home town. Most of the insignia for the CWACs features the helmeted head of Athena, but the cap badge was these three lovely maple leaves. I am not sure if the green is verdi gris or if the maple leaves were green and the paint has worn off.
The memorabilia produced for the 50th anniversary of the disbanding of the CWACs cannot match the quality of the originals, but the theme of the reunion my mother attended in Calgary, Alberta was "Proudly they served." WWII and her service in the CWACs was a defining moment in my mother's life. While stationed in Saint John she met my father, and the rest is - well - my story. Mostly.

*278/365 About a week ago I shot a short project for my cinematography class on 16mm and today I got the film back so decided to put an edit together to post up. For the project we had to find a Haiku poem and make a visual interpretation of it, but because it's a Haiku, we were only allowed 3 shots. This was a ton of fun to make and def pretty exciting to shoot on film!
