I quickly took this photo just before the vehicle went down the steep dune. By then I had enough of this dune bashing and could not wait to get out of the 4-wheel drive! I must add that all of us had fun and we did have a highly experienced and competent driver at the helm.

This is my entry for round one for the Pullip-Tography “Calendar Girls (& Guys)" Contest.

Here you can see Baphita, who will be having a moustache bash to celebrate her birthday!

One Last Roar at Candela

Good news folks, we are into the last few days of my UAE trip, I have saved a few of my favourites for last, kicking off today with the last shot from my Dune Bashing adventure

Fujairah is the only Emirate of the UAE that is almost totally mountainous. All the other Emirates, like Dubai and Abu Dhabi are located on the west coast, and are largely covered by desert. Therefore, Fujairah boasts a higher than average yearly rainfall of the UAE, allowing farmers in the region to produce one crop every year.

The weather is seasonal, although it is warm for most of the year. The months of October to March are generally regarded as the coolest, with daytime temperatures averaging around 25 °C (77 °F) and rarely venturing above 30 °C (86 °F) with temperatures climbing to over 40 °C (104 °F) degrees in the summer. The winter period also coincides with the rainy season and although by no means guaranteed, this is when Fujairah experiences the bulk of its precipitation. Rainfall is higher than the rest of the UAE. partly because of the effect of the mountains that encircle the Emirate, and partly because the prevailing winds are westerly bringing with them water-laden clouds off the warm Indian Ocean.

The variability of the east coast climate is partly due to the presence of the Hajjar mountain range. As with other mountainous areas, precipitation is higher, and this allows for a more varied micro-environment in the area. Tourist visitor numbers peak just before the school summer months.

Bash Bish Falls, the highest waterfall in the state of Massachusetts, is located in the southwestern part of the state, in the Taconic Mountains. The falls are made up of a series of cascades, nearly 200 feet (61 m) in total, with the final cascade being split into twin falls by a jutting rock, dropping in an 80-foot "V" over boulders to a serene pool below.

Can anyone ID the Writer?

MyKiE RiZzO just identified BASH. Thanks.

37109 powers through Burrs with 2J69 14:20 Heywood to Rawtenstall - much to the pleasure of the "bashers". 30/5/2009.

Sabe o bloqueio?

Boa quinta! =D

strobist: SB-26 into silver umrella camera left; I only noticed in PP that I had aimed the umbrella too far to the left, creating this nasty blob of light on the wall

Decided to try a farmer's bridge (containing a right of way footpath) over the M40 today (25/01/2025) for some sunny shots of the Oxford services and football traffic (Everton were travelling to Brighton).

All went well until our presence on the bridge was challenged by a rather irate member of the adjacent farm who couldn't believe I was standing up to her when she demanded we clear off. Unsurprisingly, it wasn't long before the big man arrived and after some in-depth explaining seemed satisfied our intentions weren't threatening. He even waved as he passed us again.

Anyway, drama aside, around 15 coaches from Merseyside passed us, plus a trio of Parry's and countless Tubes and Airlines.

Not every bash goes smoothly...today's between schools objective was to do a new SE on the 352 to Lower Sydenham for a required Costa, then make a heavy dent into my Peckham PVLs on the 363. So here we have Camberwell bus WVL147 at Wood Vale, Forest Hill! In a nutshell, 'temporary traffic lights' in Bromley resulted in no 352s going to Lower Sydenham for around 90 minutes (well that's what London Buses twitter department replied to me!). So it was a DW to Lower Sydenham on the 194 instead. No worries I thought, at least I can have 36308 on the 356 after my coffee. I went back outside to watch a fitter arrive in 36306, and you've guessed the rest! Thankfully the substitution didn't totally shipwreck me, as the next 450 was a Dart. My PVL bash didn't last long though as I thought I'd get required VWL10 on the 185, which took me from Wood Vale to Camberwell Green, for this bus back.

My first successful HDR of the falls. The water spray was at full force, quite a challenge keeping water droplets off my lens. My first shot of the falls with a deecent sky. I guess if you go back to the same spot year after year, your bound to get a decent shot eventually.
