How laid back do you have to be to get married in jeans and a baseball cap? I love it!
When I first met Khokan (on the left), I had no idea it was his wedding. He was so at ease, easy going, and relaxed. Between that and the jeans and baseball cap I just thought he was showing up for someone else's wedding.
It was only later that I was told that this is in fact his wedding. I wonder if all Buddhist weddings are this laid back and easy going.
Also in this photo is Rick Davis - a teacher at the American International School in Dhaka who was my travel buddy for this journey.
On Saturdays I help my wife sell pies at the farmers market in Palo Alto, CA. Today I brought my camera and asked some our customers to pose with their pies. These are my favorite shots. All done with Natural light.
I'm trying to set my shot up here (and I have very little to work with since I didn't bring a tripod) I wanted it up higher so that the table top wasn't a majority of the picture.
I turn a beer mug upside down and use a ketchup packet to cushion my lens. About this time I attract the attention of a sweet nice grandma lady. She walks up to me and asks "Would you like me to take your photo?"
I tell her no thanks, because I knew she wouldn't feel comfortable taking not just one, but multiple pix of us being stupid. And I just knew that if she did she would be sitting there with my camera and a polite smile on her face thinking "Now WHY did I come over here again?" while at the same time wondering why society is going down the gutter. I knew she'd want to get away from us as fast as possible and that she would more than likely only take one pic and one of us would have their eyes closed in it.
Isn't that always the case?
So I spared her and continued to set up my imposed ketchup-n-beer-mug tripod then got all happy with the remote. There's about five more of us being lil' hellions and this one was the best!
