The Bay area regional transport system (we were travelling from Walnut Creek to San Francisco city centre) which was excellent - especially for those in wheelchairs who could wheel on and wheel off directly from the platform - no steps!

Bart used to be a starving stray until he turned up at our door. Now he does not stop eating and because of this has become overweight. Although we try to feed him just his diet food it is difficult when there is other food around for the other cats. He needs a home where he can be given a proper diet to reduce his weight. He is a quiet cat that adores affection but sadly we don’t have the time to give it to him.

Met “The finest chocolatiers of Belgium and Luxembourg 2021″ brengt Gault&Millau deze week zijn 5de gids uit met een selectie van de beste patissiers en chocolatiers van België en Luxemburg. De Oostendse chocolatier Olivier Willems werd daarbij verkozen tot Chocolatier van het Jaar 2021. Maar ook Knokke-Heist scoort voortreffelijk met de vermelding van maar liefst 2 topchocolatiers die in deze exclusieve gids zijn opgenomen. Vooreerst natuurlijk David Maenhout die al in 2013 door Gault&Millau uitgeroepen werd tot de allereerste ‘Chocolatier van het Jaar’. David behaalde ondertussen als chocolate-designer al diverse gouden awards op wereldniveau en is ook door Bart Callebaut officieel benoemd tot Belgian Chocolate Ambassador. Verrassend is echter dat nu ook de jonge Knokke-Heistse Olivier Van Nueten zich in de selecte top 100 van master chocolatiers van de Benelux heeft weten op te werken.

Olivier Van Nueten was pas 19 toen hij in 2017 zijn eigen chocolade atelier opende in Zeebrugge. Hij liet zich al snel opmerken door zijn bijzondere chocoladesculpturen, waaronder de fiets van Olympisch kampioen Van Avermaet op ware grootte, een gedetailleerd cruiseschip van 1,50 meter groot voor de opening van een cruiseterminal in Zeebrugge, en een exacte replica van de eerste Zweedse kroon die aan koning Carl Gustaf van Zweden werd overhandigd. www.kneistikrant.be/david-maenhout-en-bart-callebaut-bekr...
