A view of the Natural History Museum at Amherst College. I spent most of a 10:20 - 1:30 free block editing pictures today. My Wednesdays are going to be pretty sick this year haha. I took 7154 pictures this summer, so for the next couple of weeks I'll probably be sifting through old pictures and uploading the stuff I like.

edit: Thank you daruma* for awarding this "Admin's Pic of the Day" (13/9/09)!

Shadow play at Bowdoin College. Increased color contrast a bit for the effect. Of all the styles of photography I've explored so far, my favorite has to be the kind that forces one to reconsider the perspective. I'd be impressed if you can figure this one out.

Taken on the Metro platform at the Santa Apolonia station in Lisbon. A pure, simple image which combines horizontals, verticals, angles and curves; semi-monochrome in colour and with only slight texture. I just find this image is easy and pleasing to the eye.

Detail shot of the rear near side wing of a 1950's racing car, (an Aston (??)) at the entrance to the London Classic Car show. The show is on at the ExCel Centre in docklands, East London. My first photo taken in 2015!

Auch wenn die Farbe - oft auch wegen der Witterungseinflüsse - nicht mehr ganz neu ist, ist doch überall das einzigartige Farbgefühl bei den Kombinationen zu erkennen.

Inspired by the great crosslens himself! I'm not gonna lie, his work makes my photostream look like a joke :p. Check this: "my world is orange green"

I feel like I inadvertently interrupted the flow of my stream over the past couple of days. In some ways it was for the better, but in others it was for the worse. It was all in good fun.

As seen on the Griffen's Wharf boat docks in Boston, MA. I've been searching for cool boat abstracts for a couple weeks now, inspired by the great minimals taken on Granville Island that a couple of my contacts frequently post on Flickr. Take a look at how I composed the ropes if you don't understand the title.

Thank you so much sediama for awarding this "admin's choice of the week", week #35.

As seen near the US Constitution Museum in Charlestown, MA. This was a lot harder to capture than it looks! It's very tricky to escape the effects of glare. One of the reasons why I took this at 8:00am in the morning :).

Other proposed* FedEx mottos:

"If it ain't broke, it soon will be." - neoplatonist

"Why deliver today when we can put off 'till tomorrow?" - jakebilbrey

“We're not happy until you're not happy.” - scottbourne

I honestly didn't know that everyone hated FedEx so much, but I think I will stick with UPS from now on.

Bricks, corrugation, tasty colors, and shadow play... all in one :).

Probably won't be uploading too often now that school has started. This weekend I'm going to experiment with my friend's 50mm f/1.8 lens and will probably go into Boston at some point to try out some street-shots. That's right--there is a slight chance that my next picture won't be a colorful wall! Shocking.

Since my last upload, two of my pictures have been recognized in public groups!

1) Geometry (Admin's Pic of the Day in the Ministract Pool).

2) The Road to Oz (Competition #3 winner in the Bare Minimum Pool).

Thanks to everyone who made it happen! It made this past week a very happy one :).

edit: Wondering what this is? Check the street view on Google Maps! Pretty sweet stuff :).

edit #2: Alternate title by jawdoc: Tea Party. I like it :).

I've walked past this wall (just outside the bus stops at Alewife Station) hundreds of times throughout my life and I only realized how deliciously orange it was yesterday morning. It makes me think about the thousands of simple things I've probably overlooked in the past 18 years -_-.

More from this wall to come! This find made 3 hours of exploring Massport 110% worth it.

p.s. I'm trying really hard to chill out with these abstracts/colors and maybe try to take pictures of PEOPLE for once... but every time I find something like this I just can't help myself. Sooner or later I'll change things up...

I found this two weeks ago while exploring some laboratories in Bedford, MA. The red asterisk is part of a logo for a solar energy corporation called Spire.
