Lorcan is a fully repainted wigged Texas A&M Ken doll. He has the Tango Ken Barbie Basics #16 face sculpt. His clothes are handmade. Lorcan is artistically anatomically correct. I love dolls with red hair, but since there are not many 1/6 scale red haired male dolls- I decided to create Lorcan.

So, I'm super annoyed that her cage bustier was glued on. Who thought that was a good idea??? If the MTM bodies weren't so awful, I'd consider swapping but I like the articulated modelmuse bodies even though she has a lot of silver paint left on her.

I had so much fun with this little interactive experiment! Not knowing which models would be chosen (Part 1, Part 2.5) and not having the control of what they would wear (Part 2) and waiting to see what the setup (Part 3) would be was kind of nail biting for me. In all honestly if I was doing the shoot alone I would have selected the blue and purple dresses for Drew & Raquelle but the gold & black actually turned out extremely better than I had expected. I really love the results and how it all came together, hope you all do too! Until next time... ;-D
>>>NOTE: just in case anyone was wondering, I pulled the pink streaks out of Raquelle's head. I separated her pink streaked plugs from her black hair then twisted them around my finger and pulled them out individually.

Isn’t this what we collectors have been asking for from Mattel? Black Label dolls with articulation and fashions to mix and match. They’re finally doing it! When Barbie Basics ended I felt there were a lot of missed opportunities. It didn’t really end with a bang… And I hate it when a collection ends abruptly, you know what I mean? A swimsuit collection isn’t really what I have in mind to end a series. I was waiting for more articulated Basics dolls along the way but they teased us with only three from the Barbie Basics 2.5 Collection. I thought they were the coolest, most fashionable, most beautiful dolls. They were the ultimate Barbie dolls! The Barbie Look’s theme has been revised so many times already. In 2013 they started out with two City Shopper dolls per collection and fashion packs to go along with them. The only thing with those fashion packs is that the themes were kind of Playline, don’t you think? A golf set? A tea party set? A skiing set? They were very nostalgic in a way that they pay homage to Barbie’s heritage but they were a little bit out of touch for the adult collector and that’s why I think they didn’t sell well. So in 2014 there were no longer fashion packs but they’ve increased the dolls to four per season in a more glamorous theme and they came with full-on jewelry sets and accessories. For the third revision of the line, I thought they finally got it right. You know, I’ve been waiting for dolls that would be on the same level as those Basics 2.5, and here we are! I love that the line is going back to its roots, I love that they are taking inspiration from Barbie’s style feed on Instagram, I love that we are seeing various looks in various themes, I love that we have separates (I hope that they are). I mean, it’s never too late! Now a lot of fans have expressed that they don’t like the inclusion of the new Playline head sculpt. Well wasn’t the Generation Girl Barbie sculpt playline? Wasn’t the Lara sculpt used to be playline as well? I don’t see why not. A collector version of the Millie sculpt is fine with me. I am all for it.
Now, I’m not really jumping for joy with the themes in this collection. I mean, c'mon. Barbie has a lot to do other than sipping a cup of tea with her girl friends. I wish they come up with fresh themes that adult collectors and fashionistas will enjoy. How about... Front row at a fashion show at the NYFW, or A Night at the Louvre Museum, or A Date with Ken at the Fontana Di Trevi…? Something that is travel inspired and something chic with a little bit of fantasy in it. Also a two-doll gift set wouldn’t hurt. A wedding gift set, maybe? We need Kens and we need fashions to go along with them. I’m just wishing that the fashions will be sartorial worthy. Vests up to the knees, sheer tops, prints, suits, midriff dresses, capes, floor length skirts, fabric handbags, clutches and purses. I mean, there’s a lot of fashions from the Barbiestyle Instagram account that this line can take inspiration from. We don’t need a lot of tiny accessories and repetitive jewelries. We need layered fashions & separates because frankly there’s not a lot of street style fashions made for the collector bodies.
For $29.95 this is actually not bad. I mean with the stuff I buy this is in fact, budget friendly. Compare this to the $24.95 Hunger Games and Divergent dolls with outdated bodies that comes with tchotchkes and knick knacks I can’t even use. I think The Barbie Look is in the right direction and hopefully we will be seeing more collections.

Nolan (left) and Teresa (right) wear it with pride, letting everyone know they not only love the songs from The Eagles but the band's lead singer, Glenn Frey... a small way to pay tribute to his large contribution to the music industry. Thank you to Kathi of the Etsy store, Frau-e for making this idea into a 1:6 reality.

So this is sort of a Part 2 or sequel to my "Super Bass Fashionistas" photo. I finally got around to doing it after putting it off for so long. During post though I realized I had forgotten to put Summer's bracelets on... Christie's still wearing them from her last shoot, oh well

I tried something a little different with lighting and used flash, which I usually never do. I love the way the colors came out... Everyone was pretty good on set except for Summer, who was difficult to work with and fell multiple times. I guess she's just getting used to her new body ;)
Machi is a full repaint. She has a Asian Fashionista (Lea sculpt) head, and she has been re- bodied with a Tris Divergent body.
