It’s summer time and I hate all of the wasps buzzing around on my back patio. It looks like Wolverine and Banshee share my disdain. My apologies to all the Banshee fans out there, just having a little fun.

Siouxsie & The Banshees, ‘The Scream’, 1978. The debut album. Post-punk before that was even a thing. ‘Pure’ sets the mood. Echo, sparse drums, Siouxsie’s banshee wail. ‘Jigsaw Feeling’ pounding tribal drums and metal guitar riff with Siouxsie swooping down. ‘Overground’ slow slashing guitar with rolling toms and rat-a-tat. ‘Carcass’ riff and stomp. ‘Helter Skelter’ starts slow with single bass note before exploding with fierce guitar. The Beatles ripped apart. ‘Mirage’ phased guitar and acoustic chug with solid drum pound. ‘Metal Postcard’ like a demented Kurt Weill tune with more slashing guitar. ‘Nicotine Stain’ another grinding riff. ‘Suburban Relapse’ intense riffing, thunder drums, and saxophone for added room-clearing dissonance. ‘Switch’ starts slow, building up then dropping away before returning, the guitar distorted, loud and proud.
Not an easy listen but Siouxsie’s voice and the overall noise still sounds unique. Indeed, you can hear elements of this album in pretty much every post-punk, alt-rock band ever since. It’s amazing they ended up effectively becoming a pop band, having hits, appearing on ‘Top of the Pops’ and the pages of ‘Smash Hits’…

Banshee n : is a name given to a female spirit, which can be found in Irish and Scottish folklore. The wail of a banshee is associated with the foretelling of an imminent death in the house, outside of which the banshee has previously visited.

I've been having this nightmares lately about kidnaps and murders. Last night I dreamt of receiving an email saying "I am going to kill yoe." Yes "yoe". I don't know for some reason the mail's supposedly "you" word was misspelled. It was so vivid, so real. Have I not been sleeping well? Am I stressed? Is this a sign of an impending doom. For whatever dreams mean, I try not to think about it too much. I feel like I am being consumed by this nightmares, and I wanna interpret it through photograph. My nightmares are like banshees foretelling something I hope would not happen for real. In Jesus name...

The old Zylmex Pontiac Banshee concept car casting transferred to Motormax ownership sometime in the mid 1990's. Chronically dated like most concept vehicles but certainly an interesting choice. This loose example was kindly donated to my collection by Mikaela.
According to Irish folklore, banshees are fairy women (or ghosts of women who died, commonly in childbirth) who wail when death is nigh. Their wails are most often heard at night near woods.
My banshee is dressed in baby corduroy, or pinwale, for a play on the word "wailing." Her tattered dress is accented with ribbon and lace, and her split dagged sleeves feature a silk blend lining. Her body is made of 100% wool felt, and her hair is mohair locks needle-felted into place. Her arms and fingers are wired and jointed for full range of motion. She comes with a doll stand.

Old farmland in Loudoun County, VA, has become a nature preserve, with overgrown barns and silos.
The name of the preserve reportedly comes from an 1800s immigrant farmer who told his neighbors that he heard a shrieking banshee on the "reeks" (hills and dales) while returning from a tavern late one evening.
SURPRISE!!! Because of popular demand, I've made a banshee for the moc. Basic build is by HiddenDragon12009 but the rest is my design.
I made this for my Halo New Alexandria scene, but i assume i will use it for other scenes as well...
