Baubles, bangles, bright shiny beads
Sparkles, spangles, your heart will sing, singa-linga
Wearin' baubles, bangles and beads
You'll glitter and gleam so
Make somebody dream so that
Some day he may buy you a ring, ringa-linga
I've heard that's where it leads
Wearin' baubles, bangles, and beads

polymer clay bangle.
because the circumference of the bangle changes i put the cane slices together as one large strip then joined the ends to form one large circle and positioned it on the bangle. this allows me to stretch the outer most edge slightly to fit the bangle while maintaining the pattern without trying to reduce the cane to two particular sizes and shapes.
take one premade bangle. because you wont be able to do much in the way of sanding after you have finished the bangle (pendant etc..) should be sanded to a high finished (dont bother buffing and definitely no polish)
in this case i carved a basic out line into the bangle with a scribing tool (you could also use a thick needle or even the back edge of a craft knife but the scribing tool is easier particularly for somthing like this with a curved surface)
i found with carving making a light and shallow line then deepening it with successive strokes was better than trying to create a deeply carved line in one stroke. particularly where accuracy is an issue
once you have carved your design take some well condition and softened clay (in this case i used black) using the back of a craft knife push the clay into the grooves and lines of the carving (think grouting tiles)
remove excess clay.
(here you can see the carved and filled outline of the ammonite and the section i have started to 'fill in'...i'l get to that in a moment)
A simple picture of the bangles my cousin was wearing on her flower ceremony. I still haven't used my 100MM Macro lens which apparently happens to be the most expensive lens i own ever for real macro shots (flowers implied explicitly!) and i keep shooting portraits, frogs, coins and all that you can imagine with it.
I would however claim that this lens is an absolute master piece when it comes to sharpness and colors. The problem is that the DoF is so thin like a hairline crack you have to be really careful as to where you are placing your AF points on the frame. I had to try real hard to get the focus on the last but third bangle from the right on this picture and it took around some 12 shots and some yelling from my cousin that her eyes hurt cuz of the flash!
Ladies in flickr, here is a beauty tip you will love. I'm told that the Gold Bangles that you see here are NOT gold, not even any metal. These are standard glass bangles with stones made of glass/plastic embedded in them. They cost nothing more than 15 bucks and you can get loads of varieties in Pondy Bazaar, T.Nagar.
