Did a spot of Christmas shopping at the weekend, and Tim pointed out the wonderfully reflective jewellery in our Matalan store! Well, I just had to snap a shot or two, didn't I?!
Susanna Hoffs of The Bangles performs on November 5, 2011 at the Showbox At The Market in Seattle, Washington
'kheta' was her name, my model in the village of ludia. she was in her late-teens, prompt 'n bold, a perfect one. i never needed to ask for a pose! but she will make sure for additional money with every click! this is how i found her, looking at me while clicking.
she was from a harijan family, hence their two huts were build far apart from the others, they all served us with great hospitality, despite of their poverty. it was one of the finest moment photographing and we had their own menu for dinner, very tasty.

L'idea era quella di fare un bracciale rigido con l'anima di fil di ferro da utilizzare come chiusura, in modo da non doverlo forare lateralmente per creare la chiusura....
Polymer Clay Bangle, somewhat different from my "common" color palette, I like it very much, the contrast between a very dark lilac and the orange - yellow hues is really eye catching
Digital work taking a word piece by Sian Hindle and re-creating it digitally as a bangle, 3D printed in wax, ready for casting.

Seriously, it's knitted. This is the first time I've done anything like this, and I cast on way too few stitches to start with, on a very fine wire. Knitted it up, with a bead or so every few stitches. I didn't bother casting off, I threaded a long peice of wire through the stitches and then pulled tight. Then I twisted, rolling it through my fingers until I was left with a long twist of meshed wire, and chunks of beads. To make it into the bangle - and it is pretty bangle like, rather than a flexible bracelet, I wrapped the strands of beads round a fairly fat tube of rubber, with a couple of cord crimps at each end, and a big secure jump ring. Have to say I'm pretty impressed with it for a first attempt & I'm sure it'll get quicker, but it's taken me about 20 hours worth of actual work.

A Glorious Moonlit Night
~ Whitney Fong
It was upon a glorious moonlit night,
When my eyes first beheld your eyes.
Despite the latest hour of twilight,
Light from the heavens shown done to my surprise.
A fitting beam for such a divine angel,
With shining blond hair and handsome smile.
Could this prosper? Only time could tell.
You placed your hand in mine and we stayed a while.
Not a sound nor descent of sky,
Could distract me from your charming ways.
We strolled 'till the moon was no longer nigh,
If this is all but a reverie, don't wake me from this phase.
For to me love was once not conceived,
But upon this glorious moonlit night, I believe.
*********************************************************
I think that moonlit nights are so, so romantic and give us the the chance to express our desires, especially the ones which come from the bottom of our heart and soul..
So, another week theme challenge jewel - nocturnal. I wanted to create a very intricate bangle based on dark colours, apart from the central part, the moon.
I used meters of sterling silver wire in different gauges and many silver beads of different sizes.
In the middle I've put 2 white agate faceted teardrops - the moon - with a frame of silver squared beads and tiny labradorite rondelles. Immediately after the "moon" there are 2 wonderful faceted lapis lazuli round beads with a frame of tiny dark amethyst round beads.
At the end of the bangle I used two amazing peacock round button pearls.
This bangle is 7.87 inches long - clasp included - and it was made with lot, lot of love!
Hand felted bangle rolled from soft merino wool and embellished with tencel rivulets, delicate free-form beadwork, and stunning red poppies, which add a dramatic touch of color.
Formed entirely by hand, this bangle is adorned with slabs of watermelon tourmaline, placed in a mosaic pattern. It is reinforced with a thick, fine silver wire backing, and pinned down with hand-wrapped wire coils. There are numerous thai silver 5-petal flowers with centers of pink and green tourmaline gemstone beads. My most intricately designed project which took approximately 22 hours to complete

I’ve been always fascinated by art and especially by Impressionism and Art Nouveau artists, such as Klimt. I love his paintings, his choices of colours and of forms and I’ve been deeply influenced by his art in creating this bangle - inspired by Eni Oken’s tutorial (www.enioken.com) – full of warm colour beads: 4 polymer clay beads, glossy and dull crystals, silver beads and many, many meters of 925 silver wire. Handmade hooked clasp. It is 20 cm long.
Bangles are carried lie this by street-sellers through residential areas, markets and trains. A much better way of reaching customers than a fixed shop.
Also worth noting is that some plastic and glass that comes to Dharavi for recycling ends up being made into bangles – though its more the collection, sorting and cleaning that happens here with further production taking place elsewhere.

ScavChal #4 : What are you preserving
This is a small subset of my wife's sets of bangles collection, taken from her box of bangles with utmost care and of course with her conditional limited permission. So it is eligible for the Scavenge Challenge #4 What are you preserving?.... too, I guess? Is in't it Crow? In fact this way we preserve some of our traditions too.
Updated storage situation on my bangles. Having them colour coded in small plastic bags got too tiresome for daily use, so I decided to box them in three color ways.
My beading friend Piratchada mede this gorgeous bracelet using my pattern for Caribbean bangle.

Polymer Clay Bangle, organic shape, pastel colors, just the right bracelet for summer, the tiny red dots are inspired by Tanja Stumpp, who was the first one in our group to "play" with them

jade bangle is one of the most worn jade item with an aura of mystic for health and luck. Prices ranges are extremely wide from a simple bangle for six dollars to a real special one, means great texture, color and translucency for more than 3000,- the values are sometimes strange, since there are no standard parameter, read more.
