Balrog has landed in the hanger scene.

A testing LED lights and shooting.

Will add some spot light to it.

Gandalf ON the bridge of KHADZAD-DUM after fighting the balrog

Not my usual photography but needed a break from construction and Renos and new addition to house was fun to do artsy fartsy stuff with a cup of coffee in morning taking a break for sanity

Entry for the Bio-Cup 2023 preliminaries

I was looking into the fire when I got a sudden inspiration and ran inside for my sketchbook and a pen. This is what happened

Teaser for my upcoming mecha “Balrog” with Action Mecha base stand. AMS initial stand for Advance Mecha Soldat and in French it mean Soldier.

“The Balrog reached the bridge. Gandalf stood in the middle of the span, leaning on the staff in his left hand, but in his other hand Glamdring gleamed, cold and white. His enemy halted again, facing him, and the shadow about it reached out like two vast wings. It raised the whip, and the thongs whined and cracked. Fire came from its nostrils. But Gandalf stood firm."

To show the head of my Balrog better, here is a close up.

I also made a video that shows his features.

Don't miss to watch it!

Sometimes it doesn't pay to fight a tonberry, especially a tonberry queen.

Here's a book-accurate Balrog fig I made. Really happy with how it came out. The torso's a backwards Ghost Rider one, and the head's from Ninjago, but with editing to make the eyes orange.

Heavily inspired by the colonial marines in Aliens, I’ve been toying around with the idea of doing this squad for several years now, but most of these customs are brand new by one or two months at least. Aside from Dodger (obviously) and Gravedigger (second row with Balrog's head), I’m still playing around with possible names, and am working on a storyline in which to utilize them.

I’ve really pushed my comfort level by customizing heads and helmets to bring a more diverse ethnicity, while trying to give all team members decent helmets with communication mics. I used a drill & dremel tool to hollow out sneak peek’s head to use as an actual helmet, and an exacto blade (with sandpaper), prior to that, to remove the Iceberg head's cap.

('Balrog' by NECA / 'Gandalf' by Toy Biz - The 25" Balrog Electronic Action Figure was produced in a limited edition of only 2400 pieces worldwide)

Diorama by RK

My very first creation in the universe of The Lord of the Rings.

The Balrog itself was the most challenging bit. Of the 20 days I spent on the whole MOC, I estimate 18 went to the Demon of both Flame and Shadow.

"You shall not pass!"

Since I do not have the rest of the Fellowship I decided to only build half of the Bridge of Khazad-dûm.

Thinking about bringing this one to Skaerbaek Fan Weekend in September, see you there!

Once again the Balrogs came out to bother us, and the brave warriors from Avilion had to go out and chase them back deep into Moria.

Once we advanced into Moria the first obstacle we had to clear was a beacon puzzle to open up the doors to the next part. The balrogs and assorted allies (watch for the large spider) made this quite hard to do though.....

Gandalf from the Balrog's perspective. Lego photography quick build and comp.

You shall pass, since you are lighter on my coin satchel!

Balrog/Rancor Hybrid.

Started with a Rancor minifig and sculpted into a Balrog. By far the largest custom fig I’ve made, maybe not the most detailed though.

Inspired by awesome SW/LOTR mashup artwork from @jakebartok

Thanks to my local games shop, @warehouse51games for all the supplies (lots of greenstuff, mordant earth, etc)

thank Seraphina for the inspiration to play with lightings, the result was a good monster

"Many are the songs that have been sung of the duel of Glorfindel with the Balrog upon a pinnacle of rock in that high place; and both fell to ruin in the abyss." -Silmarillion, Tolkien

Based loosely off this painting.

Built for MELO.

Just a little sunlight left...

This image kind of reminds me of the scene in LOTR where the fellowship is running from the balrog through the 21st hall towards the bridge of khazad-dum, and the light of the balrog lights up al the pillars...

Spoiler Alert!

This is a sneak peak of Digital Wizards' current project (in production). I have been on the set with Director, Writer and Animator Paul Hollingsworth assisting with the filming of the to be titled LEGO Avengers movie. Initially, I was only "commissioned" to re-create the Chitauri Leviathan in BIONICLE/HERO FACTORY format, but I have taken on a more active role in filming. I have been a quick study. Who knew that watching all those DVD/Blu-ray extras would come in handy.

This was a full length image of the Leviathan. We were utilizing a green screen technique for post production image manipulation.

Model: Chitauri Leviathan

Dimensions: L: 30 in W: 20 in H: 10 in

Builder: Norbert Labuguen

Photographer: Paul Hollingsworth

The MOC was registered for BrickCon 2012 in the SuperHeroes Theme. It won the Trophy-Mobile Award.

My first collaboration with Digital Wizards was on their Lord of the Rings movie project where I had the movie credit of Balrog Creature Keeper. The Balrog that I created also followed the Hero Factory format but not as grand as the Avengers Chitauri Leviathan.

Go to Youtube Two Towers in Two Minutes: Extended Edition to view the completed film.

I feel confident building almost anything, except for creatures/animals. Thus trying my hands on a fellbeast was uncharted territory for me. First of it has the wrong wings. My intentions are to use the wings lego used in their version of the fellbeast as soon as the new Balrog set releases as it uses the same wings so they will be become widely available. Other than the wings I feel the overall shaping is fairly decent. Further changes will be made once it's built in real bricks and it's easier to see the proportions.

Tell me what you think.

Lavaria's Ballrog! Credits to Dead Frog for the name :D

I present to you my latest MOC mecha that based on MG Gundam inspiration size. This is the 2nd MOC i did make after AMS H18 Hotten Imperator Mark II

Balrog was inspired by my favourite childhood Gundam model MS 18E Kempfer hence the dark blue color on most of its parts and the iconic two bazooka that attach on its back.

Arms with two bazookas, two panzefaust and a beam gun. Also boosted with 9 rocket boosters to aid it’s manoeuvre advantage in any situation battle that accord. Fit in with Action Mecha base my mecha able to do some pose with it’s armaments and some action poses. More pictures to come on the second part.

AMS initial stand for Advance Mecha Soldat and in French it mean Soldier.

Feel free to comment.

I designed this famous beast for a commission, and I'm very happy with how it turned out! This minifig-scale Balrog was a tremendously fun challenge to design. It has 39 points of articulation, and can balance on its own feet in many poses.

Instructions available. DM me for more information.

A huge upgraded can be seen here side by side between Mistel and its old predecessor Balrog (right side) for comparison. A complete overhaul from the head to the feet. Only the color of blue and yellow remain the same. Oh I managed to fit in a lego technic part here.

MELO R4: The Fall of Gondolin

Glorfindel's Fall: Caleb Walker vs. John Snyder

The city of Gondolin or the "Hidden Kingdom", was home to the Noldor Elves. Located in the Hidden Vale of Tumladen, it was the perfect place to build an Elven city, due to its natural surroundings. The encircling mountains gave much protection and also concealed the city's location. The Great Eagles also destroyed any spies or servants of the dark lord, Morgoth. The city of Gondolin was built out of white stone and thrived for five centuries, until it was finally betrayed and its secret passages revealed to Morgoth. Who sent a huge army of Balrogs, Orcs, wolves, and Dragons to destroy its inhabitants. The Elves fought valiantly for their home, but the might of the enemy was too great, and the mighty city of Gondolin was sacked.

During this great battle against evil, the valiant elf-lord Glorfindel fought a mighty Balrog. Their encounter led them to a high pinnacle of rock where the fight ended when they fell over the edge and into the abyss. The Great Eagle Thorondor bore Glorfindel's body up from the depths and buried him in honor.

This was probably my most rushed entry yet! I feel bad because I absolutely love the city of Gondolin, and would've loved to build more of the city. But with a week of being a camp counselor, and then a week of vacation. There was little time for building. To be honest, about 90% of this was built in one night. And my desk is a total mess and I really need to sort and put old builds away. The Balrog needs some work, I just didn't have enough time to make him better. The rocks actually turned out very nice. Enjoy this incredibly rushed MOC!

Once again the Balrogs came out to bother us, and the brave warriors from Avilion had to go out and chase them back deep into Moria.

Following the tomb room, the brave warriors fought the balrogs in the great pillar hall, in the depths of the chasms....
