The decorations in Giro Park in Penticton are quite unique this year with these 3 dimensional lit balls hanging from trees int he park. Quite impressive when you first come across them because you don't actually see the trees until your eyes get used to lighting. Branches of the tree are dusted with a coats of snow from the afternoon's snow fall.

This was a rather surprising image that popped up while tinkering with the previous one.

Just watching the "balls" , July 2018, at the Atomium in Bruxelles, Belgium.

Catkins, also known as willow catkins, are the inflorescences of willows and other trees that resemble fluffy balls. They are one of the first signs of spring in nature.

Another forgoten lens in my collection. Carl Zeiss Jena Flektogon 35mm f2.8. Not as appreciated as f2.4 but in all respects an excellent 35mm lens.

SOOC as seen by Nikon standard preset.

一見水の中のように見えますが実はガラスの中に埋め込まれたガラス玉です。地下街にこのようなカラフルなガラス細工が沢山飾られていました。その中の一つですが、単に綺麗だなと思っただけなんです。

I came back a little disappointed. Due to rain the treacherous descent to the base of the falls had turned even more perilous. The composition from down below would have been really breathtaking. May be next time.

Some fascinating frost this morning at Marsh Farm Country Park - the grass was covered in balls of ice with frost formed on top of them!

▶ "Platanus orientalis —also known as American sycamore, American planetree, western plane, occidental plane, buttonwood, and water beech— are among the most massive trees native to North America, rising over 100 feet tall, with trunk diameters that can exceed 8 feet.

Flowers appear in spring and develop into fuzzy, round fruiting balls that hang on long stems like Christmas ornaments. They darken and ripen in October. Within each ball are tiny, seed-like fruits that disperse in downy tufts like daffodil fluff, as the balls disintegrate."
