On the recent trip to Myanmar there was also a hot air balloon ride.
What an experience that was. I think this must be one of the top shots which I took in Myanmar.
You May Smile along with me, I just pulled this moment captured 2008 , take from the folder called " Questionable's " I do know why it was there ! even though 8 years ago , on my annual Camera Camp checklist. " Capture the first light over the Sandia. Because notice how the colors just seem to come out of the display Yet the darkness of night still lingers, the reason put on the folder. a distinctive corona around each balloon, E-510 the 8 MP days. well that was about the time I read about getting away from the purple cast shadow, so the folder didn't have that many views , another of the student Learns , so mental note 24 MP + 36 MP, Here it IS, Enjoy !
Taken from the side of our motorhome, as we are parked for the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.

This guy is sick of waiting to finally transform himself into a butterfly and be able to fly. Using some balloons he tries to take off from the ground and see the world from above ...
But obviously he miscalculated the correct size and number of balloons to get into the air. Try again or keep on waiting buddy! ;-)
direct overhead balloon passing by over Utrecht, The Netherlands. Look careful and you can see the hands of the sailor. Shot with Pentax K3II and Sigma 120-400 @400
Without a wide angle lens it's hard to capture the number of balloons that make up this spectacle. The sky is litterally filled with balloons. I posted this one at a higher resolution than usual so you can see the big pic and get a better sense.
"Ferrara Balloons Festival" is the most important festival of balloons in Italy and one of the most prestigious in Europe.
Several weeks ago I decided to attend the Winthrop Balloon Festival (winthropwashington.com/event/winthrop-balloon-festival). Considering the weather forecast I probably should have stayed home but I had reservations at Winthrop Inn so I drove to Winthrop Thursday on a pleasant, partly sunny day. Yesterday was cloudy but the forecast rain and snow did not show up. You can see that in my photos from today (March 4) that not only did it not snow and rain, there was hardly a cloud in the sky. Photos I took of the balloons yesterday floating in the gray sky are not that exciting but the blue sky March 4 made the colorful balloons stand out. I will upload many more photos of the Winthrop Balloon Festival in the nest few days and weeks. IMG_3487

Balloon over Bagan - inflight GoPro shot with Coen Geenen the fantastic pilot. He has flown in different locations and countries and this company ( Balloon Over Bagan ) has a great safety record. They would not fly if the pilots have any doubts and return the fee. Myanmar 27 January 2017. Me second from right front row of photo
Not much scope for creativity or originality, but at least I managed to capture the flame being released.
Another shot from the "Balloon Glow" event at the Balloons Over Bavaria festival that I attended in Frankenmuth, Michigan, earlier this season. Hot air balloons are inflated at dusk, and as darkness falls, spectators are treated to the sight of a field filled with tethered balloons that glow as the crews fire them up. In this scene, one crew is obviously a bit ahead of the other in inflating its balloon and getting it upright.
Happy Cliche Saturday, everyone!
Flickr friends, after Saturday, I will be taking a few days away from Flickr for some summer R&R. See you when I return.
The three hot air balloons shown here over the Androscoggin River are from left to right: Mrs. Happy In Cognito Too piloted by Darrek Daoust ; Windspirit piloted by Joel Jones from Alabama; Tailwinds piloted by Jim Rodrigue of Lewiston/Auburn Maine.
Locals gather to watch the hot air balloons. It is part of the festivities at the annual Ham Days celebration in Marion County, Kentucky.
