For Crazy Tuesday

One grubby, used golf ball resting on one of Peter's favourite hats. We were there! I don't play, but I enjoyed every moment of our visit! Apparently, on the course, they had to have a boy to find the ball, and one to check for snakes. Also, a dirty great big crow- like bird swooped down and removed a ball that was in play - not sure what they did about that!!

Find out where to get these rad outfits from LaZo and Little Miss in my new blog post: delisadventures.wordpress.com/2017/08/20/balling/

My friend Bob organized our stay in the Sea Ranch area of California. What a beautiful place. Because it is not an easy drive from the population centers in California, gorgeous coastlines are uncrowded and pleasant. Here's a few shots from the area. Black Point, closest to where we were staying, Bowling Ball Beach and Stump Beach, where the clouds were kind enough to add a bit of drama. One more post from this area then off to Santa Rosa.

Hilarious by its name but spectacular to see. Thanks for View, Fave and Comment!

They love ball games...

The Golden Ball is located on the seafront at Scarborough on the East coast of Yorkshire.

The storm clouds were approaching from the sea but the low setting sun was shining on the building

Il sole al tramonto illumina le dorate balle di paglia create in un campo di grano da poco tagliato.

The setting sun illuminates the golden bales of straw created in a freshly cut wheat field.

A closer look at the Golden Ball, added when Sir Francis Dashwood rebuilt the medieval St. Lawrences Church. It is covered with gold leaf and provided members of the Hell Fire Club with an exclusive club house. The ball is hollow and contains a circular bench that seats ten people.

It was closed to the public for safety reasons some years ago

Rolf Glasmeier supplied the design for painting the spherical gas container on the Rhine-Herne Canal in the mid-1980s. With the yellow dots on a blue background and the red supports, the heavy gas container looks like a light, funny ball.

Messing around in Lightroom. The background was blown out anyway so I went all the way. Since finding this tennis ball in the neighborhood green space, Jasper has made a nightly practice of running around with the thing. But at 110-112F, (43-44C) at evening walk time, Jasper knows his limitations. Fun is fun though so ball transcends heat for a few minutes at least

The pen is mightier than a sword, words that cut, words that unleash the captive, words that strengthen, words that enlighten, words that comfort all roll from the ball point, but for now sheath in a spiral awaiting the next time compelled to pull the weapon and make a point.

Another of nature’s fractal’s, this is a close up of the surface of a puff ball fungus.

For Looking Close on Friday theme of “part of a Christmas ball” here is a ball with a Hummel Angel reading a story to a bluebird.

Il sole tramonta all'orizzonte di una calda giornata estiva illuminando di giallo dorato un campo già mietuto e con le balle di paglia pronte.

The sun sets on the horizon of a hot summer day, illuminating in golden yellow a field already harvested and with straw bales ready.

Crystal ball placed on a glass plate and in front of a mirror. Candlelight illumination. Reflections are producing two little images of crystal balls inside looking like bubbles.

Happy HBW my friends!

"People moving out, people moving in

Why, because of the color of their skin

Run, run, run but you sure can't hide

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth

Vote for me and I'll set you free

Rap on, brother, rap on

Well, the only person talking about love thy brother is the preacher

And it seems nobody's interested in learning but the teacher

Segregation, determination, demonstration, integration

Aggravation, humiliation, obligation to our nation

Ball of confusion

Oh yeah, that's what the world is today

Woo, hey, hey..."

Some very appropriate lyrics for these times.

Yesterday I took the Lens ball outside on our winter hike to see what I can do with it there. I am having a ball trying to come up with creative ways to use this crystal ball in photography. I find it very challenging but that is making me think about composition more. This was taken at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula in Tobermory where there is a lighthouse. At first, I "barked" at my hubby for touching the snow covered rock I was using to rest the crystal on. I didn't want him to mess up the snow. However, he inadvertently created this neat little snowball in the process that I liked in my composition. Thanks hon!!

My glass ball has a diameter of 8 cm, the focal point is about 1 cm outside the ball, as you can see in the picture. The match placed in the focal point ignited after just under 10 seconds. The paper also burned shortly afterwards.
