Several abandoned dwellings were constructed around enormous rocks along Highway 89A near Lee's Ferry, Arizona. I tried and failed to get information regarding the history of these odd structures.
Beautiful, Balanced Rock Art, on the Ottawa River at Andrew Hayden Park in Ottawa, Ont. Canada! My friend John creates these fabulous sculptures!
The total height of this formation in Arches National Park is 128 feet (39 m). The hard rock is perched on a pedestal of mudstone. Eventually, the faster-eroding pedestal will cause the collapse of the Balanced Rock. Not hard to believe when you realize that the resistant caprock weighs 3,500 tons (over 3 million kilograms). I got this photo before it fell!

Balanced Rock im Arches Nationalpark (Utah)
Auf Grund der Erosion wird der 3.600 Tonnen schwere Felsbrocken irgendwann herunterfallen.
Arches National Park in Utah. Our final destination on our Utah adventure. The La Sal mountain range serves as the backdrop. The roads are undergoing resurfacing at this time and the hours are limited so no sunrise or sunset images could be captured. Unlike Monument Valley we were given lots of pretty white clouds.

What’s up guys? I had a short conversation with a good friend of mine today about home. I must say it got me home sick yet again! So in that name I’m posting a night shot from the “House on the Rock” in a little town called Bajina Basta, I believe that the correct translation would be Bajin Garden. Obviously :) During the night it’s under a beam of light constantly so pulling this image while the surrounding is in complete dark was quite easy. What do you think?
I found these interesting balanced rock formations near Marble Canyon Arizona.

I took this image a year ago after Christmas from the balcony of my mom's home in Schuders, a small mountain village located in the Swiss Alps near the Austrian border. It's beautiful up there.
I processed a photographic and a balanced HDR photo from two RAW exposures, blended them, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Balanced Rock left is an iconic rock in Arches National Park, Utah. The snow capped La Sal Mountains are on the horizon. This is an eight photo panorama.
In Arches National Park one on the main attractions is Balanced Rock.It has an estimated weight of 3500 tons and is the size of a large house. It is a beautiful sight that no picture by any photographer could ever do justice to it once you seen it in person. One day tomorrow or many thousand of years from now it will eventually fall from a temblor or from the eventual work of erosion.
Balanced - Male Costa's Hummingbird surveys his territory from a dry Yucca leaf. Not my typical closeup style, but I am trying to see new opportunities and capture some different looks of wildlife incorporating more of the environment when possible in addition to the usual closeups. Sunset in the desert is beautiful and all the colors in this image are straight out of camera with minor corrections.
