Tito's Lane Baga Beach pic 9 of 31: Tito's Lane Baga Beach pic 8 of 31: A selfie against a backdrop of this street market parallel to the infamous Tito's Lane party district on Baga beach in north Goa. The myriad of market stalls here sell souvenirs, garments, handicrafts and tourist kitsch. This market lane actually runs parallel to the nightlife district of Tito's Lane on Baga beach, Goa. There was understandably not much patronage at these market stalls at this hour, as past 20:30, folks converge onto Tito's Lane to sample, or gawk at the many pubs and nightclubs there, and not to shop for souvenirs, but considering the well stocked stalls and the sheer number of them, I'm sure they see some patronage before nightfall, or at a different time of the day. Notes about the Tito's Lane party district appear elsewhere in this album. (see previous and subsequent pictures in this album). (Goa India, Nov/ Dec. 2022)

Tito's Lane Baga Beach pic 19 of 31: The main street along Baga beach was pretty empty around 20:30. Of course, you cannot see the beach from this street at all, thanks to the plethora of market stalls, shophouses and restaurants which block the view completely. As I have zero interest in bars, especially with their overpriced drinks and those massive cover charges, I kept going in and out of Tito's Lane, Goa's primary party district, taking pictures- I do enjoy night photography. Tito's Lane is actually off this street, and is directly to my right- I am of course standing a few steps away from the end of Tito's Lane. As you can see, this stretch of beach road looks innocent enough, with traders just trying to get by. The market stalls and other establishments aside, this street along Baga beach is a total commercial district, for here area also travel agents, banks etc. on this street. On the negative side, some stretches of this street have a dubious reputation of being rife with scams with criminals on motor scooters following single men, tempting them with offers for bar entry, massage and carnal desires and then having bouncers threaten to pound them to pulp unless they pay up astronomical sums etc. Of course, these scams are much later in the night, and target a certain type of tourist- outsiders mostly, and these scams are run by outsiders too, so although not everyone is so scammed, it's better to keep your wits about you. Tito's Lane Baga Beach pic 7 of 31: Jazz Bistro- another of the bars on Tito's Lane in north Goa. Tito's Lane is named after an older bar and nightclub named Club Tito’s. This was one of Goa’s most popular nightlife spots. Tito's was sold off recently after its owners claimed much harassment and persecution from the police, politicians (who else?), and government authorities. The Club Tito's pub was founded in 1971 by Tito Henry de Souza, and it was in it's heydays one of the most popular tourist spots and watering holes in Goa. Club Tito’s may now be gone, at least in it's original form, but it's legacy will live on in Tito's Lane, the lane in the nightclub district of Baga which it's named after. Tito's Lane Baga Beach pic 3 of 31: Another of the many bars on Tito's Lane on Calangute beach, Goa. Sadly, they seem to have transferred part of the Sin City Pattaya (Thailand) into Goa, as the place is rife with scams and rip offs. One thing I found most disagreeable here is that all the bars Tito's Lane levy a hefty cover charge, which range from Indian Rupees 1500 to 2000 per couple and 2500 to 3000 for single males, or stag as they are referred to here. All the bars here have an attached 'night club', accessed through a door at the back of the central seating area. This is for loud music and dancing, and many of these enclosed night clubs come with their own scams and rip offs, and bouncers literally holding victims in a stranglehold, forcing them to cough up cash. Of course, they target a certain type of tourist usually, so not everyone falls victim. I visited around 20:30 when Tito's Lane was relatively quiet, I was told the place gets packed only around 22:30 when the crowds- both locals and foreign tourist converge here in numbers. It is believed that Tito's Lane is the place for party animals. It is also considered to be a good place to find a mate or to get hooked-up. At my age, and with zero interest in hooking up or partying, or throwing away my money on a stupid cover charge, I was happy to take a few photographs and move on. From what I could gather, and observe, none of the old time locals like this place, the place is over run with outsiders, and the language you hear here are mostly Hindi and Punjabi. Tito's Lane Baga Beach pic 23 of 31: A group of ladies look rather confused at the Ladies Walk In Free outside one of the bars on Tito's Lane in north Goa. This is probably the new avatar of the original Tito's bar, which the original owner, after 40 years in the business, was forced to close in 2021 due to large scale harassment from the police, local politicians and NGOs. The bar was sold to a Punjabi gentleman who also owns a casino, so this bar is probably the old Tito's, now under new management. Back to Tito's Lane, it was very lightly crowded at 20:30 at the time of my visit. I was assured however that the street gets positively packed past 22:00 when it is standing room only- so to speak, and the parties here go on right until 4 in the morning. During its heydays, the original Tito's nightclub was famous for hosting themed dances and events like the Portuguese Corridinho or the Goan Dekhni, fire juggling and fire limbo acts. Although the original Tito's club is no more, its legacy lives on, as this lane itself is called Tito's Lane, in it's memory. Tito's Lane Baga Beach pic 4 of 31: The White Goa- this is another famous bar here on Tito's Lane on Calangute beach, Goa. Tito's Lane is famous for its nightlife and is home to several restaurants and bars in the city. Bars aside, Tito's Lane and its surrounds are also a popular shopping district with several boutiques and scores of small souvenir and tourist stalls lining the street. Of course, from what I could gather from the locals I spoke to, many of the old timers disapprove of Tito's Lane, especially of the overly loud, offensively high decibel Punjabi rap and other kinds of loud music which pop their ear drums and literally thump at their chests until very late into the night and disturb their peace. The place is also over run with drunk and overly loud tourists, almost all of them from outside Goa, and for the many scams in the area, usually involving tourists and carried out by the oursiders. Tito's Lane is probably definitely worth a visit if you are a party animal, if not it's worth a quick visit to look at and photograph the vibrant atmosphere of the place and for night photography. More notes about Tito's Lane appear elsewhere in this album. (see previous and subsequent pictures in this album). (Goa India, Nov/ Dec. 2022)

The crane you see is a ship breaker breaking the last remnants of this ship that had beached on Candolim a couple of months ago. This is my second attempt at Startrails and it seems my Olympus only allows for a maximum of 8 minutes exposure! Bummer!!
Rishikonda Beach, Visakhapatnam – This crescent beach with its deep blue waters is ever enticing to sea lovers. The hills behind provide the perfect romantic backdrop. A real pleasure walking from one end to the other or just sitting on the rocks and enjoy the surf sprayed on your face. Beautiful and serene beach, you can sit back and relax here. You can check this place early morning. Hardly any crowd there, which makes the place more clean and tidy. Sandy beach and crystal clear water is at its best.
