It's my cousin betsy's birthday today. Some friends tagged along with a couple of magazines and we had an instant shoot. The unsaturated background you see is what we used as a backdrop.
A blessed sunday to all. Let's also pray for the victims of Typhoon Ondoy today, it has been a year since the tragic date.

We had never been to the Back to backs in Birmingham even though the car park we often use is only a few minutes walk from the houses.

These drinks caught my eye in a sweet shop during a recent visit to the Back-to-Backs museum in Birmingham, I love the design.
The "recreations" in Holbeck - site of the old Holbeck Recreation ground where Yorkshire C.C.C played 3 times.
My first visit to the area since September. The south side of Brown Lane East / north side of Recreation Grove has gone but little else has changed. Newly delivered piles of gravel suggest that things are about to happen.

Lens back-to-back testing on Panasonic GX7. RAW shots converted under RAWTherapee. Fixed ISO200 used on tripod and 10 seconds timer. All image settings on default.
Tripod set so that items fill the viewfinder.
Lenses on 25 mm focal length and possible aperture range used.

A visit to the Birmingham Back to Backs from the National Trust.
We had a guided tour in the morning.
The guided tour lasted well over an hour and a half (or longer). In a group of ten. There was other groups on tours as well. Best to book tickets in advance. National Trust members go free on their membership cards.
The Birmingham Back to Backs (also known as Court 15) are the city's last surviving court of back-to-back houses. They are preserved as examples of the thousands of similar houses that were built around shared courtyards, for the rapidly increasing population of Britain's expanding industrial towns. They are a very particular sort of British terraced housing. This sort of housing was deemed unsatisfactory, and the passage of the Public Health Act 1875 meant that no more were built; instead byelaw terraced houses took their place. This court, at 50–54 Inge Street and 55–63 Hurst Street, is now operated as a historic house museum by the National Trust.
