A few photos from Thursday's business trip. We had to try some new Trakus hardware at Woodbine race track in Toronto so I figured why not make the trip. I didn't have time to stay for the evening (standardbred) racing but I was on the backstretch for morning workouts. Oh, this was also the first day out with the new D200 I'm using while my D70 is in the shop. Toronto, Ontario.

My favorite part of being at Lollapalooza early and working. When the gates open, Star Wars Theme Plays, and then it's Chariots of Fire.. The morning race to the front row of the main stage. It's very special to witness. Sunday I will be positioned better.

June 8 2013: Ran delayed the start of the NASCAR Nationwide Series DuPont 250 at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.

After a tight 3 wide, Orian Thompson spun on the backstretch. Unfortunately he was death plowed by #71 Jeff Johnson. Orian Thompson would then begin to do a horrendous death roll.

Alameda County Fair, Pleasanton, California on July 3rd, 2008

Luling Mansion was built along Esplanade Ave (just SW of the Fair Grounds backstretch) in 1845, for a total cost of $24,000. In 1871, it was sold to the Louisiana Jockey Club for use as its clubhouse. At the time, the Fair Grounds track was still known as the Creole Course. The Jockey Club used the mansion to host dinner parties, balls, concerts, & a host of other extravagant events. Today, the building's two wings are gone, as well as part of the wraparound balcony. The rundown building was converted into rental apartments several decades ago. A number of movies have been filmed here in the past.
