this particular backpacking meal was a bit strange. it was called "chicken pot pie." it consisted of instant mashed potatoes topped with some chicken gravy slop. interesting, but anything tastes good after 13 miles of hiking.

August 8th, 9th, & 10th 2011 - Backpacking in our beloved Olympic National Park.

During the hike August 8th from Obstruction Point and Moose Lake.

After going uphill all day, we walked downhill for a mile through the most idyllic, verdant forest with meadows full of wild flowers and birds. We camped in the rocks overlooking a vast green meadow and looking out across that meadow at what was like a movie theatre, a granite dome and multiple peaks.
