Outtakes from a recent shoot.

The white background and backlight enhances the delicacy and translucence of the petals.

My sister took this photo, I though it was a really good shot so I'd post it here.

Taken with a Canon 100mm Macro

The sun (in between the clouds) was providing a nice backlight for the fuchsia in my Mum and Dads back garden. Unfortunately it was windy and there were a lot of clouds in the sky so it took a few attempts to get this; I've said it before but I really need to improve my technique at slower shutter speeds!

This is my submission for the recording images group, backlighting week.

I spent the last two days with Sherman Hines. He had a weekend workshop in his home in Poplar Grove, NS.

He will have another one sometime in August - that one will be held in Liverpool. If you have the time, don't miss it.

One of the exercises was shooting against the sun, backlit objects.

My Mother's Day Tulips are drooping- but still look pretty in the light.

Back to Upton House, this time for pleasure not work, looking for some summery shots on a summer's Sunday..all taken with the 50mm lens. Upton, Poole 20.07.2014

The light was streaming in behind so I had to grab it before the light shifted.

Nine month old Husky / German Shepherd mix. How odd that I'd never seen this breed before, and have now met two in less than a week.

A Roe deer (_Capreolus capreolus_) doe on the Forest. She stood and watched me (in between periods of grooming) for about four minutes before deciding I wasn't that interesting and wandering off into the trees to join a buck.

........bright sunlight usually ruins a flower shot, however backlight provides so many oportunities.....

Taken at Swansea Botanical Complex, Wales, UK. No graphics please.

A lovely early morning walk in amongst the misty trees. This ones with my 70-200 straight into the sun which has created this wonderful backlit scene.

Hmmm, Textural! Up close it looks like a bacteria colony, but it's really just a ------ with sunlight behind it.

Spring is slowly showing through, here the tiny first buds just starting to show backlit against a very low winter sun in the Sunbury Walled Gardens, Lower Sunbury, Surrey, England
