I somewhat can't believe that I made this. xD
My new background set-up, brackets on the wall hold up to 3 2.72m paper rolls at once, and roll up and down by using the chain. No more rolling up paper rolls by hand and swapping them over on stands! :D
Done for a dual class assignment. Teaming up with the graphic design class across the hall to do some potraits.
This was a 30 secod exposure where I painted the background with a speed light and some selected gels, then flashed the studio lights to expose for Justine.
Photo a Day for a Year - #235
This photograph shows how the same composition can have a different feel depending on the background against which it is shot. here i moved the camera only a few inches up and down to change the background, keeping the composition more or less constant.
I found a left over poster from our publication competition that fit *perfectly* as a background for a 20L. Usually I hate backgrounds with images on them, but I liked this image a lot and looked like actual sunken sculpture because of the relative size. Also, it's nice and subtly colored so not as tacky as commercial backgrounds. I think it's fun.
Incidentally, apparently Brian acted out at some point and took a pee on our rug, which we discovered this morning. And when we lifted the rug, sure enough - damage to the hardwood...!
Background: This was a busy day. A 3 1/2 hour train Ride to Matsumoto to See Matsumoto Castle. Then a 40 minute train ride to Nagano to see the Zenko-ji Temple. We wanted to see the snow monkeys too, but we ran out of time. So back to Tokyo, which was only about a 2 hour train ride from Nagano. The snow monkeys would have to wait till the next day.
