Mount Rainier National Park
It was sights like this one that made me jealous of folks who live in Seattle. Who wouldn’t like this iconic mountainous backdrop along their daily drives? Mount Rainier was truly like a sleeping giant radiating its calm, gentle, but convincing presence.
What title would you give this image? I really struggled to find something precise and concise, which reflects everything I saw and felt in this very moment. The sky was just jawdropping, it was like someone took the most beautiful colors and just painted over the firmament with it. If I had the possibility to lie into those colors and fall asleep in them I absolutely would (if you struggle with this don't worry: it takes some imagination ). Then, walking through a forest just gives you endless possible compositions, I was simply overwhelmed. Not having a lot of time and doing it all hand-held also added to the urgency. I'm super happy that some of the shots turned out the way they did. So what about the title? I went for a very generic one, no way I can pack this wall of text into a few words 😉. Let me know if you come up with something better.

Her Gold embroidered backdrop was inspired by a design I found from a boulle (tortoise-shell Inlaid) cabinet.
Her Non-pareil beauty is dedicated to people who have unreasonably maligned her and me due to their intense green-eyed monsters. This picture just says it all.
Drop curtain discovered during the renovation of the Ashtabula Playhouse in 1961, featuring local advertisers circa 1920.
The scenery was produced by Charles F. Thompson Scenic Company of Los Angeles.
"Charles Thompson became one of the most sought after scenic artists in Hollywood but wasn't satisfied with just working for the Grosh family. He invented and patented a "day-night" add curtain or stage "city scape" drop curtain that could be back lighted to create an on stage night add curtain (city scene) when the theatre lights were down. It became so popular with local businesses and theaters that almost every vaudeville and early movie venue/theatre in the United States adopted Thompson's concept."

Hard to believe that this city and much of its surrounds were buried under 4.6 metres of water for a number of days.
Although the vast majority of the damage has been rectified, there are still many factories, houses and businesses, that will never ever re-open.

Painted a backdrop with Boswell for Laid Blak supporting Wallace and Gromit's Grand Appeal the other weekend (cancer research charity, under 18 event).
