Color mismatch and general wood grain commonly found in these areas are removed. Usually the back panel of the backbox is not flush to the neck and this is fixed as well.
After restoration, small felt strips are placed here to prevent future scratching/marring.
here's the player stepper unit inside the backbox on my Big Brave. For some odd reason the "Ball in Play" contact on the stepper had been disconnected. I resoldered the wire, and now it works fine.
The face people don't see, but usually the one absorbing the most physical damage. All edges and corners are repaired and everything is smoothed out.
