I'm uploading more of the shots I took last week from my little excursion to West Virginia.

This was taken on Route 219 South atop Backbone Mountain near Fairfax Stone.

Hell's Backbone Road is a 38-mile (61 km) gravel road that was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s, and connects the towns of Boulder, Utah and Escalante, Utah. Halfway along the road is Hell's Backbone Bridge, which is 109 feet (33 m) long, and 14 feet (4.3 m) wide. A 1,500-foot (460 m) drop is on either side. Near the bridge are views of the Box-Death Hollow Wilderness. From late spring to autumn, the road, which climbs to more than 9,000 feet (2,750 m) elevation, is passable by ordinary passenger vehicles, but it is very narrow and winding.

Hell's Backbone Road is a high-country alternative to the paved Utah Scenic Byway 12, which also connects Boulder and Escalante, 27 road miles (44 km) apart.

It was hot, 105 degrees, actual temp.

Film Club’s THE LOST WEEKEND IV was a celebration of film at the Alamo Drafthouse Winchester that took place from Thursday, September 24 through Sunday, September 27. Seventeen feature films from around the world and a block of shorts were featured, including five advance screenings. None of these films had been screened theatrically in Winchester before. Other weekend highlights included a Devils Backbone beer tasting, free photo booth, menu specials based around films, free buttons and more!

Film Club 3.0 is a community of film fans that meets as often as every week at the Alamo Drafthouse Winchester to screen independent, foreign, documentary and classic films. Founded and led by Andy Gyurisin, the group has grown to over 1,700 members in two years of screenings at the Alamo and has helped to demonstrate that independent films are in demand in the Shenandoah Valley.
