Publicity photo of a new Unic truck to promote this relatively unknown truck brand in the Netherlands. This Vercors still had a fixed cabin.

 

This new type of cabin was designed by the French coachwork company Pelpel (Genève), and and appeared in 1960 for the first time at the restyled Vosges. This advanced cabin style was called Auteuil, and was implemented across the entire Unic truck range.

In 1966 tilting cabines became available.

 

In January 1975 the French truck manufacturer Unic S.A. merged with Fiat, OM, Lancia and Magirus-Deutz into Iveco. But before that, Unic was part of Simca and became part of Fiat V.I. in 1966, while retaining its own bodywork and cabins.

 

L6 engine.

Performance 160 bhp.

Production Unic this Auteuil cabin: 1960-1974.

The SD1 series was presented in June 1976.

"SD" refers to "Specialist Devision", an internal given name by British Leyland (BL).

The Rover SD1 was considered as the last real British Rover car. Following models were developed in cooperation with Honda.

The official Introduction of the Land-Rover Series I took place at the 1948 Amsterdam Motor Show.

The Land-Rover was restyled by David Bache (1925-1994) in 1958.

This Motor-home has probably served as an Ambulance.

The shape of the rear body doesn't look familiar to me. It's a LHD so it has to have continental roots.

Note the one-piece windscreen.

Never seen something like this before.

 

4 cylinder petrol engine.

Evanescence Marine ,l'Abandon dans les reflets rouges.

On a day trip to Lake Clearwater to take some snow shots. We left before dawn so we could catch the morning sun on the mountains. Canterbury High Country June 27, 2015 New Zealand. It was -7c here!

 

Lake Clearwater is a place of relative peace and solitude. Motor powered craft are not permitted on the lake however rowboats, kayaks, and windsurfers can be used. The strong and consistent winds funnelling off the mountains are a slice of heaven for windsurfers.

 

A small village of around 100 holiday homes (or baches as they are called in New Zealand) are located on the ground that seperates Lake Clearwater from Lake Camp, a two minute walk away. Overnight camping is permitted at a basic reserve area situated on the South end of Lake Clearwater, providing toilet facilities and water (required to be boiled for drinking).

The spare wheel is normally mounted on the trunk lid.

On my way back home I decided to take the N4 as a short-cut between Luxemburg and Liège. Right before nightfall I came across an oldtimer garage along this N4. I was really astonished what I discovered there...

 

The 403 Berline was presented in April 1955 and styled by Pininfarina. Soon also an estate car, a 3-door commercial van and a 2-door pick-up were available.

Between 1956-1961 even a cabriolet was made in small numbers.
