Not ICM but IWM - Intentional Water Movement! A combination of two abstract images shot by standing over a shallow babbling brook which has a pebbly riverbed - and the colour and shapes of the trees and leaves are reflected in the water's surface.

The water flow from lake Louis is quite low this time of the year, give it a few months and this will be quite something.

At the bottom of a valley, a creek flows quietly and relentlessly downslope in the fall. The gentle flow indicative of the lack of precipitation upstream for many months which is pretty typical of the climate here. A fallen tree trunk and tangle of branches hints at much higher flows at different times. The golden palette indicates the change of the season is upon us, one that the land is in desperate need of. Surrounding this view is thick and intense smoke which was sourced from tens of miles away in the Creek Fire. The sunlight filtering through the enveloping smoke casts a profoundly warm hue into the mid-day light in a scene already shimmering with the fallen golden leaves of quaking aspens and cottonwoods. During my limited visit to this area, cut short by the smoke, I was immediately drawn to this scene. The golden rocky bank on the right and the green mossy bank on the left framing the gently tumbling water as it flowed from the unseen course hidden behind a fallen trunk, branches, and rocks. There was no other sound except the water, as if the smoke chased away every other possible noise. Fortunately the first, and so far only, storm of the new season would come and put an end to the smoke not long after.

This little creek was making some cheerful noises under the ice as we skied along beside it. Along with the great scenery, we saw tracks of deer, elk, moose, various rodents, coyotes and a wolf. The mountains are busy when we aren't around.

When I hear birdsong, I sometimes get a strong visual image to accompany it. This bird is a babbling brook. Brown-headed Cowbird, Brush Prairie, Washington.

One of many thousands of mountain streams found in the Columbia River Gorge sweetly sings a welcoming spring song!

I don't know the name of this place, but i can tell you its between Vik and Hof. We spotted this on the side of the road, and pulled over to take some shots of this relatively unassuming spot. By the time we were done, the place which was previous empty, was now filled with 20+ people. I am not sure if this is a popular spot, or that people stopped because we stopped. We may never know.

We actually visited this twice, and was much luckier with the weather, and the crowds, the second time round. Like most places we shot, it took more than 1 attempt to get the weather to do what we needed to. You cant rush Iceland.

Private Car Babbling Brook is seen parked on Track 17 of Montreal's Central Station. This car was built by Budd for New York Central and is now privately owned. It arrived in Montreal on Amtrak's Adirondack on Friday evening and will be departing Sunday morning. Of note to Toronto-area railfans; it will be making its first trip to Toronto this coming week, arriving on Tuesday and departing the next morning on the Maple Leaf.

Passing scene along the walk in Trepanier Provincial Park. What is reassuring about this park, is at the entrance is a sign that gives clear instructions on what to do and what not do if you encounter a bear. The what not to do instruction stood out to me "Never run away from a bear." That would actually be my plan A - after taking its picture first of course.
