On a fine autumn day in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

self portrait...

This is a crouched perspective of Burbage Brook situated at the ever scenic Padley Gorge; one of the most stunning (in my humble opinion) locations in the UK.

Created using Topaz Labs; and Topaz Studio

Just take my hand, lead, dance with me...and I will simply follow the blueness of the water, the white waves rolling free...where the earth beneath my feet and stars make my heart whole again...in long and priceless moments of shared solitude...”

I posted this earlier to a private group and apologize to those of you who have already seen it. This is a creek five minutes from my house, where I love to go to feel the peace of nature around me.

HTMT!

I took this one on Saturday's hike. Everything really is the same color of green..;) It seems like my greens come out better at F16. I think I was at F9 on this shot.

Hope your week started off well.

"Nublan mis ojos imágenes opuestas,

y a las mismas imágenes

otras, más profundas, las niegan,

ardiente balbuceo,

aguas que anega un agua más oculta y densa.

En su húmeda tiniebla vida y muerte,

quietud y movimiento, son lo mismo"

The unseasonably warm weather in the mid-Atlantic region of the United States has delayed the peak autumn color change. Despite this, I was able to document some of the change during a trip through Ricketts Glen State Park in rural Pennsylvania, this weekend. Before today this region has had very little rainfall, so the falls are not roaring at their full grandeur, but I was quite pleased with what I was able to capture.

Water is the ultimate abstract artist. It paints itself with light and movement and sends shards of glittery twinkles to our eyes. Its undulations scrunch color and form into varying sizes and shapes to begin the dance of life.

I have not been around lately as my life seems to have been more busy since I finished working. I hope to be getting back onto Flickr much more as I really miss all my old friends and their nonsensical banter. I hope you like this one, it was taken in the New Forest Hampshire.

This shot is of the headwaters of the Mississippi River in northern Minnesota. To the left is the source Lake Itasca and to the right is the origin of the 2,552 mile long mighty Mississippi. Beautiful fall day to hike along and cross over it via a fun rock path. Enjoyed sitting in the sun and just listening to the gentle sounds of the gurgling water and the sway of the trees in the wind. Having a great time exploring Itasca State Park which is Minnesota's oldest state park having been founded in 1891 and largest at 32,000 acres.

I started listening to Marilyn Manson again and I've had this song in particular on repeat, I love it!

Back in the deep dark woods one might expect to be surrounded by any number of things. Trees, plants, animals, even the odd stream, what you might not expect is to find a world within the world. This photo is an interesting example of a micro eco system pressed into a crevice of the mountains, often overlooked, often ignored. The truth of this photo is that…. It’s only, at most, two feet tall. Not the main body, from the top of the photo to the pond. A little curiosity, streaming water along the path, so small you may blink and miss it walking by, hidden by the larger world around it. Take a moment to be amazed at this Babbling Brook deep into the Great Smokey Mountains, somewhere on the North Carolina Tennessee line.

Last shot from my wander around Dewerstone Woods last Friday.

The leaves are slowly starting to turn and fall off the trees but the moss on the boulders is still a gorgeous green. I think Autumn is definitely my favourite season, the woods look stunning with all those yellows, browns and oranges. Hopefully, we'll have some nice Autumn colours when we go to the Lake District again in a couple of weeks.

Between the crowds, the cops, the barricades, and vendors I found the Washington Square Arch impossible to photograph while I was there so I gave up........ Pretzel anyone?
