Skyraider F-AZDP, with damaged wing, turns in to land after incident which lead to the loss of Mustang D-FBBD “Big Beautiful Doll” at the 2011 Flying Legends Air Show, Duxford.

The pilot of the Skyraider managed to land safely and the Mustang pilot was able to bail out before the aircraft crashed into a nearby field. Both pilots were, thankfully, unharmed.

Commonwealth CA-18 Mk22 Mustang. This aircraft was tragically written off late in the afternoon of July 10th after a mid-air collision with Skyraider F-AZDP. Happily the pilot was fine. The 'raider landed safely minus a large outboard wing section.

Seen at Duxford during Flying Legends 2011 on July 10th.
