This is a nicely made little carpenter's axe made in - would yoiu believe it - China. The bit is nicely shaped and polished although surface rust has made its marks. The handle looks like oka to me and the axe is well balanced. The steel also seems tough, so despite the dubious place of origin it feels and performs like a quality axe.
Loc Grand Arche, La Défense, Paris
Looking right down the Axe Historique to the Arc de Triomphe and then beyond that is the Champs Elyseé and the Louvre. The Grand Arche is actually about 6 degrees off of the axis but this is due to where the foundations could be placed so it's a bit unavoidable.
